6m for Joe Ariibo is not a good deal, last year of the deal or not should've been 10m and a sell on fee, hate to ramble on but just think the board are selling us short.

For someone to say they hate to ramble on during a ramble then i don't believe you because your rambling is very frequent and very repetitive so therefore i come to the conclusion that you in fact do not hate rambling and actually love it simply based upon the no end of ramblings that you produce.

A genuinely do get your point mate and understand the frustration 100%, but the reality is that’s just the way it is in England. The money down there is differnet to anywhere in the world. It’s insane that league 1 and championship players can go for £10/ £20m plus no Matter how talented they are. In the grand scheme of things the aribo deal is good business. Bought more a few hundred grand, helped win us a league, Scottish cup and Europa final, left for probably in the end £10m. But of course I wish we could have got double that at least.

Twisted. I reckon the deal will be £10m in total, so long as Aribo achieves certain targets. So, assuming he does this we get £10m. Just not all up front. Then, there will be a sell on free - reputed to be 30%. So when Southampton sell him to PSG for £200m, we get another £60m. Easy.
I think it’s a good deal but the headlines make it out not to be.

Not really comparing apples with apples.
The Aribo deal puts him in the top 15 exports from the SPFL.
£16m for a Championship player is a pretty standard fee.
So we can't demand the same release clause values when negotiating contracts.
Also the Hull player is 5 years younger and had 2 years left on his deal.

Ness it's all over twitter aribo was 6m with add ons, if you think 6m is a good deal then good job your not on the board, yeah I get that John just think we sold ourself short with this, not a chance that Hull player is worth double Joe Aribo best player in the league or not.

Imo the board took what they could get in fear of losing him for nothing, but in all honesty he's worth more no matter how people spin it, add ons and sell on fees aren't guaranteed.

Almost every deal you hear of is structured and dependent on certain targets. No team want Daniel Prodan situation. Your choosing to state the base figure of 6mil rather than the actual end figure of 10mil because it suits your rambling argument. Any player is only worth what people are willing to pay. Seen plenty of duffers being bought for too much and stand outs being bought for a song. Time to get over it my friend.

Always need to stick your neb in storm, one of the best players in the championship? Based on what? He had less assists than Ojo? I watched a good bit of the championship last season, stand outs iin the league were Mitrovic, Swift, Spence Weimann, don't care what anyone says he's worth more and we've sold ourself short and panicked and storm he's probably worth more to have this season than sell for buttons, look at Patterson for example.

Pappy the add ons aren't guaranteed so why would I say 10m? Same with sell on fee, he might end up losing his way down there, who knows it's all based on him which it doesn't always work out, 10m upfront would've be sufficient given what he's achieved.

If Aribo had a £10million release clause then we cannot insist on any kind of deal higher than that but maybe Southampton agreeing to the structure of the deal might net us a bit more. I have said before its not the boards fault, they can only make offers and if the players refuse, then theirs nothing they can do . Yeah we could have sold them last summer but would that have made more money and it may well have cost us the cash from the Euro run.
