Morelos scored more goals this season than last season, does that mean he was in decline last season? should we have thanked him for the memories and began a new chapter with someone else because your theory on McGregor imply's exactly that. How many times are you going to give us stats that don't tell the real story? McGregor was number 1 all the way the Europa league final and now he isn't good enough. C'mon.

Sorry morelos scored more in the 19/ 20 season than the 20/ 21 season so going by your exact same theory on McGregor above, we should have punted Morelos last year as he was in decline.

Mcgregor time over. I love the kid but it’s another keepers chance.
He doesn’t come for crosses and his distribution is diabolical! The stats on his passing are terrible. Sooo many times when he kicks we instantly put the ball back into the opposition allowing further pressure on our defence. Changing this stat alone would make an incredible difference to our game! It does whenever McGlaughlin plays.
Like I said I love Shagger he is 2nd only to Goram.

Ace I think the main point is McGregor is 40 years old and will be 41 by the end of next season we need to move on how is Robbie McCrorie going to develop if he’s playing 3rd choice again he is entering his final year we need to see him in the cup games to know if he is the keeper we want him to be.

His age is irrelevant g4rry, Why do we need to move on? Because he's 40? He's still good enough to play at the top level, he's just played all the way to the europa league final and made some world class saves on route. Forget his age. He absolutely deserves another year. As I said just because his stats aren't as good as last year doesn't mean he is on the decline. His world class saves against Leipzig got us to the final. How within a matter of weeks can he all of a sudden not be good enough? Whether he gets another deal is upto the club and him but he has proven just three weeks ago that he he can still play at the very top level.

Ace I never said anything about if he was good enough or not but we need to freshen the team/ squad up that’s why imo we should not have given Davis a 1 year deal or be considering giving McGregor similar how are we to convince for example McCrorie and young McCann to sign new deals when they see there pathway blocked?

Everyone will have their own views regarding McGregor. Personally I reckon that he is still the best keeper at the Club by a considerable margin. Yes he has made mistakes, very easy to highlight since they are so few, and yes he is not as nimble as he used to be but if McLaughlin was a better keeper then he would have been first choice last season surely?
Problem for me is that McLaughlin hasn't really been tested, the odd game in the SPL or playing in the Scottish Cup against inferior opposition and being happy to sit on the bench as back up doesn't show a lot of ambition! On the positive side, McLaughlin does appear capable oncoming out for crosses and should command his area but I have seen him lose goals that I feel McGregor would have saved and he isn't the same shot stopper. I don't hide the fact that I would like to see a top quality keeper come in to replace McGregor. I hope I am wrong but if we don't then I fear that we will lose games that we would otherwise have won.

I understand g4rry about freshening the squad up but if they are still good enough to play at the highest level which they both clearly are as they both never looked out of place in the europa league final then why replace them for the sake of freshening up? Doesn't make sense, how much would we have to spend to get players equal to or better ability than Davis and McGregor? I don't think McCrorie is good enough to be number 1 and McCann will get plenty game time as we have over 50 games a season and Jack will be injured or won't be able to play 90 minutes for the majority of those games. In CM we have Davis Kamara Jack Lundstram McCann. That's 5 players for two positions. Hardly overloaded considering as I said Jack will be missing majority of the season and we may sell so having the likes of Davis and McGregor let's say at the very least as squad players makes absolute sense and allows us to spend in Key positions that we need to upgrade.
