What do we all think of the report/ story that allan mcgregor will sign a new 1 year deal with a coaching role also part of his new deal ?Greegs, the 3rd greatest rangers goalkeeper
of all time imo deserves this sort of deal ????.

I have no problems as long as he's not guaranteed no1 we must play on merit and his shot stopping is 2nd to none but coming for crosses is suspect and too many mistakes cropped into his play last season.

I'm hearing McGregor is not in talks, has no desire to coach right now and remains open to any discussions about his future.

I honestly think that Mc Laughlin deserves his chance, Gio must trust him, to give him the gloves for the S. C. semi against Smeltic and the final. ? wouldn’t say that he is above Greegs but as been said he is better at cross balls.

stefan klos is always forgotten, world class for me, he won almost as many old firm games as andy and greegs did.

I'm no saying goram was a bad goalkeeper far from it, but people only remember 5 or 6 saves, time has a great way of making us forget his mistskes, allan macgregor has saved us on many more occasions than goram ever did, albeit he has nearly played double his appearances

I felt was the better of the 2 and was harshly treated by advocaat
Also MacLeish preferred wattereuss
I’d go Goram
Too young to remeber woods but he probably is 2nd
I prefer chat on jet to klos and I’d say mcgregor better than klos
For us to adequately replace mcgregor will take a helluva great scouting job or a helluva lot of money
I’d give mcglauchlan no1 amd mcgregor no2 amd sign a bran new no1 next summer.

I have to admit that I am not a McLaughlin fan and believe that we need to sign quality new keeper to replace McGregor. While McLaughlin is a decent keeper and command his area well for cross balls he comes nowhere close to McGregor as a shot stopper.
There are a number of keepers that might be available that would be a better option than McLaughlin and equally important they are all younger and more experienced in top class football.
At the end of the day it all depends how ambitious we are!

Goram and Klos neck and neck for me. Just shows you don't need to have big guys in goal to be successful.

I was surprised at Davis getting a new deal.
McGregor getting a new deal would be a terrible decision.
What purpose would it serve?
Wonderful servant but errors starting to creep into his game that cost us points last season and we wouldn’t normally say that about him.
Plus Father Time stands still for no man.

Plus rumours have it Greegs has arthritis in both hands, hence the constant punching away of the ball's instead of catching.

Used to live next door to big McCloy in Girvan. Good servant and nice guy. However Hiram and Klos are my number 1 and 2. McGregor a great keeper but always stuck on his line. McLaughlin deserves a run as it'll cost a mint to replace McGregor. Keep both for another season.
