He gets a fair bit of grief on this site, I don't know why as I think he's doing a really good job, so I'd like to say a sincere well done to Ross Wilson and his team. Getting Goldson and Lowry signed up on fresh terms is absolutely outstanding business. Both could have quite easily signed better terms elsewhere. It seems the club direction, which Wilson played a big part in setting out, helped secure them both on longer terms deals. Fingers crossed there a few key players to follow in Morelos and co.

Goldson had no better offers, that's why he stayed.

04 Jun 2022 11:56:58
RFC - that's subjective though. Define a better offer. I'm confident he would have had offers of more money. So well done to Wilson getting a guy who rarely misses a game for below market rate.

RFC we don’t know what offers Goldson has so that’s a bit unfair and we are only guessing.

True blue hopefully Wilson can get kent aribo and Alfredo on new deals because if he doesn’t they need sold in this window, as we can’t let them go for free.

Even tho aribo says he is happy here I think he may go if the rumours of palace are after him are true.

Fingers cross Storm. The £12m for Paterson at least gives me confidence we won't be taken for mugs.

I said on here weeks ago, that I personally spoke to Conner (albeit through locked gates) that he wanted to stay but it was the club that was the problem.

Now that he is settled you can bet he will be a far better player for us now.

Same goes for a few others after the upset caused by stevie dumping us mid season.

Nothing to do with not having other offer.
Goldson:-
I had good conversations with him ( Gio ) . In the season he was really good with me and left me alone to make my decision, even when we won the Cup he said he was desperate for me to stay, but he would let the decision be made by me and my family, which I really respected for him to give me that time and have that patience with me.

If Goldson had better offers he'd have taken them. Even said himself he basically changed his mind the day before the window opened, phoned Gio and said 'boss I'm staying' after Gio said he was as good as gone.

He's been honest enough to hint that 'he had a decision to make' and it came down to not wanting to uproot his family for anything less than a great offer.

He didn't get one, so was happy to stay.

And that's fair enough, but maybe let's not pretend he's here as a first choice.

RFC he also stated quire clearly that he had offers from the English championship and a team in the Premier league!

04 Jun 2022 15:10:29
I hope so Bluebilly, stability is key and if he cuts out those lapses of concentration he could be a much better player. I tend to agree rfcrb, if he and his family didn't want to move back home then why did it take so long to make the decision? If they wanted to move back home then surely he'd have took one of those other offers. Anyway he has decided to stay and that provides stability in the team. let's move on.

Barrow, did he? Can you quote him saying that? I must have missed that bit.

04 Jun 2022 17:02:45
I recon he waited to the first to increase his signing on bonus. I have no idea about his offers but I’m glad he’s stayed.

04 Jun 2022 17:35:26
No one but him and his agent and the clubs involved know what he was offered or not.

04 Jun 2022 19:49:21
Rfc it's all over news now look for yourself ?.

No mileage in trying to figure out what might have happened or who offered what.

Everyone who has a pal with inside info were miles off the truth even those stating he was off the day before he was announced as staying.

Fact is that having savoured the atmosphere at Ibrox in the European games and at Hampden for the cup final it was always going to be hard to get motivated at another club that might have been interested.

As I said after the cup final, Aribo was the only genuine 1st pick who looked as if he was not part of the group.

04 Jun 2022 22:32:23
Barrow, I did. Nothing from the horse's mouth. Closest I got was that he said it was a dream to play in the PL. Nothing about having any explicit offers from there. What I DID find was a clickbait headline about hinting he had a PL offer, whereas his direct quote only talks about how he once dreamed as a little boy of playing there.

04 jun 2022 23:12:56
roc, i must have missed everything you said too then, because barrowlad gave his take, same as you, and you know absolutely zero about connors decision, which will have been made over the family kitchen table, you would not have been there i assume.

05 Jun 2022 11:03:55
Rfc yet you can come on here and state nobody wanted him Source? Or is it just plucked our of somewhere ?.
