Middlesbrough Fans buzzing about getting lundstrum.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jan 2022 20:17:15
Why he plays for Rangers.

12 Jan 2022 20:28:55
Buzzing more they have stolen Riley McGhee from under the tims noses😂🤣😂🤣.

12 Jan 2022 20:45:12
I’m buzzing too getting his 30k weekly wage off the payroll. We can make much better use of that money securing Aribo with a better longer term deal plus use to help towards securing Doekhi and/ or Skov Olsen.

12 Jan 2022 20:47:07
I see they are getting they are also getting Riley ‘the next Rogic’ McGree. How we laugh!

12 Jan 2022 21:37:22
He ain’t on 30k a week.

12 Jan 2022 21:58:45
Funny how some people are celebrating Defoe who was on around £30k a week for 3 years and never really contributed that much, while others are looking forward to getting a good player who was just getting into his stride off the wage bill despite the fact he’s only on that money because he was a FREE transfer.

HighlandBear81, 32 goals in 74 appearances - "never really contributed that much" I think maybe your wrong unless your meaning this season and even at that I thought he was coaching, and with his ability and scoring record over his career I think that's contributing. ok he was supposedly on 30k a week which could now be invested in new players but I for one have no regrets that he played for the mighty Gers to which JD helped to make mighty again.

Have to stick up for Defoe, his professionalism helped build confidence amongst a relatively inexperienced squad. He was influencial in bringing 55. His 300th career goal against Livingston. Here endeth the lesson. wouldn't be surprised if we see him again cheers JD.

I'm definitely in the defoe camp and his record speaks for itself👌He came, he saw, fell in love with the rangers and did the business for me and only age caught up with him🤔Oh how i wish he was 10 years younger🙏
Outstanding goalscorer where ever he's been and terrific role model for others within each club he's been with, to look up to👌.

Orygbmb I don’t know where you are getting your stats from but he played 53 games and scored 25 goals for us over 3years while picking up £4.6m in the the process! Now just to be clear I’m not hating on Defoe I know he’s a great professional and I great human being does so much work for charity and so on but I’m more concerned about the financial well-being of our club and the sums don’t add up for me he was 36 when he joined us his best years well behind him he was injury prone and we agreed to pay £30k a week! We could have got a real top up and coming player for that sort of money with sell on value. Sorry but in my opinion this was Gerrard and jobs for the boys! Old England roommates.

Highland Defoe year 1. 30k
Year2. 20k
This season 8k.

13 Jan 2022 06:51:46
Yip Highland bear he was expensive in our financial eyes. But Wayne Rooney I think was getting 300k. Jermain played when asked . Surely we can't darken his time at Ibrox by blaming him for picking up what was far less than what he could have earned elsewhere. You are entitled to your opinion so I respect you for it. Take care.

13 Jan 2022 07:10:10
Love Defoe must admit, but highland bear makes a very good point 🤷🏻.

13 Jan 2022 07:20:19
If you look at John25 yearly breakdown of Defoes wages you'll realise that the true gentleman took substantial wage cuts.

13 Jan 2022 07:27:17
If you call a guy who sits infront of our back 4 and slows our play down getting into his stride then Lundstram is your man. John Lundstram has played in most of our defeats or draws in the spfl and Europe.

Spot on Highland Bear

Defoe has been a great professional and great personality and up to a point effective for Gers. Truth is if he had been 10 years younger he would never have been at Rangers. It tells the story of his level that his first trophy was with us as a back up striker at the age of 38. I’m glad he won his title as his overall career deserved it but he was not pivotal to getting 55.

It is all opinions guys but when we’re running at a fairly big loss season in season out these are the kind of luxury’s we can’t afford. John25 my info on his wages are £33k per week for first 18 months as that was his loan spell then a year at £28k and then a substantial pay cut for his final year witch was obviously cut short I’ve no numbers on his final year. You may have better info than me but I’m fairly certain that at the very least I’m correct about the 18 month loan spell, however I’m not looking to argue I just think sentiment is not something we can afford at Rangers at the moment at least not st that price!

13 Jan 2022 11:19:42
Sweep lunstrum won motm awards in 4 out of his last 5 starts people forget that Scotland is a very tough league not a lot of players especially from the epl come in and hit the ground running as you don’t get a lot of time on the ball and just before sg left lunstrum was playing well I felt as did many others on here he was just getting into his stride🤷🏽‍♂️.

13 Jan 2022 11:24:18
The 18 month loan spell majority of his wage was paid by Bournemouth
At end off day he is gone. He graced our jersey.

13 Jan 2022 12:03:02
100% agree john, done the jersey proud.

13 Jan 2022 12:38:17
He was on 100,000 at Bournemouth, he took a pay cut to come to Rangers, i know Bournemouth were making up some of the difference. He scored roughly 1 in 2 when a lot of the games he never played 90 mins. Good luck to him and thanks for the professionalism he showed at the club.
