Right if Patterson goes we stand to gain 10 million up front. potentially 16 million if targets are met and he's sold? I'm led to believe Patterson currently earns around 5k per week. say we get only 10 million I can't see us spend all that in transfer fees alone as any replacement or additions will undoubtedly demand more than 5k per week so unfortunately we won't want to increase wage bill and I suspect most of the fee will be put towards wages. Poor decision again considering we don't need to sell.

I’m actually lost for words bears den 🙈🙈.

It was an offer to good to refuse considering our £23m losses. £10 million up front still leaves losses of £13m. The hope is champions league money but not guaranteed. When you factor in C.V. losses we had no option but to bite Evertons hand off. Don’t think the £10m is spending money, expect another big player sale before we splash out.

To have kept Paterson we would have had to put his wages up for a start to say £15/ 20k as he is a Scottish International and how long could we expect to get £12/ 16 million for him paying him a low wage? We are getting a fair deal and the only thing I find surprising is no other clubs are bidding ✌️.

03 Jan 2022 10:14:56
Poor decision? Think its a great move by the club for someone sitting on the bench the next 2 or 3 seasons.

Good realistic post Bears den mate.

Also three good realistic reply's (so far), without the usual accusers of being negative repliers getting stuck into you for real facts.

Long may it continue in this new year guys.

Nothing worse than seeing our fellow Rangers supporters getting slagged off for their opinions on here.

Cheers all.

Yately I'd rather have given Patterson a pay rise than sell him after all we have players like barker earn more, we have sold ourselves short again.

03 Jan 2022 10:44:18
Vast majority of that debt is loss of gate money and soft loans by our share holders! I expect 5 to 6 million of the money for Patterson to go to New additions this month with maybe a couple of loans to buy.

03 Jan 2022 10:46:30
Bears Den, I totally respect your opinion but you have to admit it’s some deal we are getting? Good luck to the young man✌️.

There might be a reason why Tav is picked over Patterson, its not ability.

03 Jan 2022 10:56:34
DEEB explain why 2 consecutive managers have picked Tav then?

03 Jan 2022 10:57:03
I think that your missing one vital part of this situation bears den and that is do you honestly think that Nathan Patterson would sign a new deal for a wage rise because i dont. Do you think he would be happy sitting on the bench for a few more years getting very little game time watching Tav getting picked every week. No way he would and now he's got the chance of a lifetime to play in one of the biggest leagues in the world getting paid millions of pounds. I know what option i would be taking. he's fulfilled his dream and played for the club he loves and now is the time for him to further his career and show the world what he can do.

Everton were always going to come back for Patterson and sadly, Patterson wanted to go. Benitez has made it clear that he wanted him as a replacement, (not backup) for Coleman. Patterson will earn at least £30k a week which is a massive increase, well above what he could have expected at Rangers, and he will be playing in the EPL.
At the same time, we have secured what will inevitably become £16m, since barring disaster, he will cement his place in the Everton first team very quickly.
I would also expect GVB to secure some of the funds received to bring in a couple of players that he wants to strengthen the Team. Transfer Deals, (including local to buy options), are not just about the fee agreed. It is also about the terms of the deal. For that reason I would like to think that we will secure some of the players that GVB wants and that they are available to play when the Winter Shutdown ends.

Barrowlad Rangers posted an operating loss of £23m to 30 June 21. An increase of £7.5m over previous year. Director loans although they are a debt to the directors are held within the balance sheet and are not part of the £23m operating loss. You are correct in that gate receipts were down, £17m in fact, a huge loss to a club like Rangers. Overall total revenue was down £11m. The effects of the Sars 2 C.V. cannot be understated. Government need to take their head out the sand before serious problems arise.

Who had Patterson sitting on the bench for most of the time Three Cheers mate? .

Gio has been with us for only a few weeks so is probably still sussing out the squad.

Cheers guys.

2blue Douglas Park himself stated that "Initial estimates are that the adverse effect on revenues was over £20m, and the effect on the net loss over £10m, regarding the damage C.V. had on the operation of the club.

03 Jan 2022 16:07:37
Barrowlad figures quoted are taken directly from Rangers FC own accounts, therefore should be accurate and not something I have made up.

2blue this is also taken from the AGM direct quote from Park.
