Apparently police Scotland short staffed due to isolation, football fans get stopped now krankie says isolation rules change from 10 to 7 days for jabbed 🤔I think she's moving goalposts to suit herself. Ohh and lots of nhs on the ten day isolation 🤔.

Agree0 Disagree0

22 Dec 2021 12:39:06
I think its more about adapting bgate, we have to prioritise our public resources. If there are limited police then isn't basic public policing the priority instead of policing football matches? I'm not her biggest fan but if police fire ambulance nhs are battered with C.V. then we have to protect our vital public services by lowering the rate of c.v. and the only way to do this is to minimise social interaction with restrictions.

22 Dec 2021 12:50:17
Totally agree BM, we need to ensure the services can deal with the priority areas.

22 Dec 2021 12:56:44
How’s about just getting on with it big Mary. If you are ill stay at home, if you have cold and are fit for work then go to work. If someone is vulnerable and WANTS to isolate then it’s up to them. You are quite vocal about your opinion on it but plenty of folk want to move on. I don’t get paid when I’m off work either but let’s all just lie in the house every chance we get eh? You went on about this all day yesterday.

22 Dec 2021 13:03:48
Good post tav.

22 Dec 2021 13:09:23
IMO those who are guaranteed their pay when off with C.V. are the ones that want lockdown.

Those who only get SSP want to work if they feel well enough.

Take away the guaranteed pay and suddenly plenty would change their mind.

22 Dec 2021 13:16:04
I honestly don’t mean any harm John and thanks for your response my friend.

22 Dec 2021 13:17:19
would be interesting to know how many NHS and Plod are isolation and not jabbed.

22 Dec 2021 13:24:53
But if we get on with it as you say Tav then the rate of c.v. goes up and then vital public services are affected and then the government introduce restrictions. Surely you see that 'getting on with it' only compounds the problem. We have to break the cycle of c.v. by minmising social gatherings in order to keep numbers low or manageable so that we can at times get on with it as you say. Oh and I'm guarenteed my salary regardless of what happens, but hate the idea of lockdowns and restrictions, which is a petty argument, but I understand the need and purpose of restrictions.

22 Dec 2021 13:43:56
100% captain Tav

Bgate they just makes the rules up as they go along they are completely clueless.

22 Dec 2021 13:50:20
We have been trying to break the cycle with lockdowns and restrictions for 2 years now big Mary so kinda contradicts your argument mate. Doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that you still get paid your salary when off. Anyway I’ve said my piece and don’t want to put the loyal through all of this again today as you did yesterday so merry Xmas everyone and all the best when it comes. I for 1 will certainly be getting on with it.

22 Dec 2021 13:56:27
My word Big Marv, actually somebody who actually speaks sense. Well said my man.

22 Dec 2021 14:01:39
Coldo! We are at the point where we need to just get on with it. Life can't continue on like this. It just can't. We know it's a risk. We know cv is still rife. But If we are willing to accept it's our choice, then we need to continue on as normal as we can. How much more can we take? How much more can our economy sustain more lockdowns and restrictions? How many more strains of this do we hold our hands up to? I'm sick of it! I know people who have lost their lives to it. I have friends who have lost love ones to it. I have also witnessed one of my closest friends lose a brother who couldn't handle the first lockdown and took his own life. If we continue to give in to it, then everyone, and everything suffers. Trust me when I say we will create a much bigger sh*t storm If our economy crashes, businesses go bust, and people lose their livelihoods. I'm sorry If that sounds cold.

22 Dec 2021 14:23:04
Outstanding BMGH01. Big Mary and co seem to be under the illusion that their parent companies will continue to pay their salary no matter what else is going on. Sturgeon has had the brass neck again to go begging to the British government for hand outs as well.

22 Dec 2021 14:30:10
It's the isolation period that's causing problems.

22 Dec 2021 14:36:04
I agree with you BMGH and I ain’t going to start on this as I won’t stop and coldo ain’t worth arguing with.

22 Dec 2021 14:46:36
Roll up roll up get your double jabs and booster as a way to freedom and a normal life 😂😂 deluded some folk.

22 Dec 2021 14:52:18
Title party, surge, nope
Full grounds, surge, nope
Cop26, surge, nope
Marches and protests in town, surge, nope
Hospital admissions at their lowest for a while, deaths lower than usual Flu season?
Let's close everything down, great idea.

22 Dec 2021 14:53:46
Double jabbed treble jabbed does it make any difference people are still catching it and spreading it. It’s a seasonal flu variant and it looks like it’s going to be around for a long time people should do what they think is right for them, if that’s isolating then apply for whatever benefits they believe they are entitled to and let the rest of the world get on with their life’s. Cause lock downs and furlough is most definitely not the answer actively stopping fit and able people going to work and doing the things they want to do is nothing short of incarceration and forcing people to take unproven vacations should be highly illegal! An MP came out and said more people die in car accidents than of C.V. but nobody’s stopping people driving in fact they are making it easier for young people to get behind the wheel of bigger vehicles because of the hgv driver shortage i'm not a conspiracy person but the whole situation reeks to the high heaven.

22 Dec 2021 14:54:15
Silly f#cker at my work just tested positive but turned up and worked the first 15 minutes of his shift today because nobody answered the phone now 12 guys been sent home for isolation. Certain big businesses are not helping this situation as they think they are above the rules, which in turn encourages a culture of fear in its work force!

We have the essential workers but spare a thought for the expendables. 🙏.

22 Dec 2021 15:04:35
DK19 you are 100% correct take away furlough and then start a lockdown and the country would break down people would be rioting in the streets! Just like Holland and Belgium recently.

22 Dec 2021 15:10:53
I know guys who were agency workers who got furlowed during lockdown but received no money at all. The agency claimed it and kept it. Agree storm and tav.

22 Dec 2021 15:26:26
To the person who said triple jabbed people are still catching C.V., stats this morning show 80-90% of people in intensive care right now are unjabbed and young. For Christ's sake, it is only a game of football! Some people are so selfish.

22 Dec 2021 15:34:31
Doiger, yeah cause the stats have been really honest and accurate so far 🙄.

22 Dec 2021 16:29:16
Doiger, some would say the selfish ones are the spineless who’ve went along with this lies !

22 Dec 2021 16:30:29
Get real HighlandBear81, it is anti-vaxers and deniers who are causing the spread. 140,000+ deaths is not a lie. Just ask relatives of those who have died. My sister and three nieces have all had C.V.. We can get through this but only if people act responsibly and don't panic. I agree that the government has a lot to answer for but you can't deny the deaths.

{Ed001's Note - seriously? The number of deaths is a lie, we all know the figures are false. It is also a lot less than are dying of starvation caused by the lockdowns.}

22 Dec 2021 16:31:00
Doiger 60% of folk in hospital are double jabbed. If the triple jag is so effective over 80% population has it why we in another lockdown.

22 Dec 2021 17:03:19
Ed001. I don't think the number of deaths is a lie, but I do think that the way the statistics are presented is being economical with the truth. For instance, many people have died of CV after going into hospital having not had the C.V. beforehand. However, they caught it and died. I find it hard to understand that some people seem to think it is all a smokescreen. Someone once said, there are lies, damn lies and statistics! Like many others, we've decided to cancel our family Christmas get-together to be safe. Our adult grandchildren, in their teens and 20s, have not been jabbed and my wife is vulnerable due to health issues. It ain't worth it if we can all just be sensible and get through this. By the way, I don't agree with lockdowns, but commonsense and selfishlessness.

{Ed001's Note - there is nothing sensible about hiding away as they told us all at the beginning, herd immunity is the best solution. That is until they realised how much money was to be made from a vaccine that needs to be constantly reapplied because it is barely of any use. While constantly hushing up any study that points out that natural immunity from having caught it provides much better protection. And the mask thing is a joke. Masks do nothing against viruses. Mine is supposed to have an anti-virus filter, but I still caught it while wearing it.}

22 Dec 2021 17:11:38
More like 90% of people in hospital and icu are unvaxxed Paul. Was speaking to a doctor friend who works in Aberdeen and the above seems to be the norm. People of all ages are in hospital.

22 Dec 2021 17:12:30
Thanks baxterboy, its common sense. BMG I'm well aware of the impact lockdowns and restrictions have on the economy, people's livelihoods and mental health, I'm also aware of the impact CV has on vital public services. We couldn't afford the first lockdown and we certainly can't afford anymore. We need to protect our vital services so that people can get cancer treatment etc. I'm not under any illusion tav, I will still get paid, but that has no bearing on my opinion and if money is what you base your opinion on then that's upto you. Its imperative that we keep the c.v. rate low by breaking the cycle so that we can for most of the time get on with it. If we don't break the cycle every so often then c.v. rates will rise considerably to the point where full lockdowns will happen because our vital services are overwhelmed. Breaking the cycle is not a contradiction to any argument, they are necessary.

22 Dec 2021 17:21:17
Paul we are not in another lockdown. Restrictions to social gathering have been implemented now so that the rate of c.v. becomes manageable so that we don't have to go into another lockdown. Breaking the cycle now will hopefully protect our economy and livelihoods from another lockdown. Our public services are overwhelmed just now.

22 Dec 2021 17:34:38
Edd: if herd immunity was the answer why are people who have had C.V. catching it again and why do people get Flu multiple times because it mutates and will again over one hundred thousand new cases today the highest number since the C.V. started, we will not need to call a lockdown there will be no staff to work in all services I work in the NHS and sickness is at its highest level or would you just have people work though they have C.V. or not.

{Ed001's Note - the reason there are no workers is because of isolation for people who have been in contact with others. Herd immunity would mean that no longer is the case, as close contacts would not need to isolate. And yes you can catch it again, but the efficacy of protection from natural antibodies from a previous infection is much higher than the vaccine.}

22 Dec 2021 17:59:48
Its not just because of isolation, its because people are off because the have CV and those in isolation are isolating to prevent the spread to the limited workers who are healthy. Natural antibodies are less efficient against mutated CV just like the mutated flu and why billions of people are still sick every year even though we have built antibodies against it for years. Herd immunity will not prevent the spread so they would have to isolate.

{Ed001's Note - you can't isolate from this, it doesn't work. How many years of this are you going to accept before you realise we can't just shut down every time there is a new variant? The shutdowns are killing far more people and damaging far more livelihoods than this virus.}

22 Dec 2021 18:49:32
I agree ed, the lockdowns do far more damage to livelihoods. We aren't in a lockdown. There is restrictions in place now to avoid another lockdown. Our vital public service like police fire nhs are at breaking point and we are simply protecting them by restricting social gatherings to lower the c.v. rate to a manageable level. No one likes this but the sooner people understand that we are struggling to provide basic emergency service cover due to the shortage of police officers, firefighters and nhs staff the better and this is due to the increase in c.v. rates because of people mixing. How long this lasts is anyones guess but I think this is now a part of life. 😩.

22 Dec 2021 19:08:57
Exactly Ed! My 35 year old sister died of cancer 16 months ago she has 4 children she had an aggressive stage 4 cancer and was complaining of severe stomach pains it took 5 months for her to get into a hospital for a scan by then it was too late I have a friend who works at raigmore hospital in the highlands that told me she has never in 15 years seen the place so quiet C.V. was the reason my little sister couldn’t get seen for so long and the way the nhs and the government handled all this is probably the reason my niece’s and nephew no longer have a mother so we all have stories related to C.V. and all have reasons for our opinions. I think Ed is correct I think more people have died as a result of C.V. than people that have died of it!

22 Dec 2021 19:14:42
Correct Big Mary there is 106000 new cases in Britain today and spreading just look at the figures for last weekend it’s climbing fast and if it carries on there will be no staff in our public services it’s not just down to isolation.

22 Dec 2021 20:40:46
Twacoos explain how it's not just down to isolation? i'm using the office for national statistics data among others and it's the isolation period that's bringing things to a halt! What's your source?
