Rugby isn't my first sport by any means but what a magnificent win for Scotland last night to finish second in the Six Nations Championship! Poor old England finished second bottom. If only our national football team could show that spirit.

Sorry, my mistake in all the excitement, but fourth only by a point from France and points difference from Ireland. We still finished above England! We lost narrowly to Wales and Ireland and could easily have won the Grand Slam.

We had a man sent off against Wales when we were the better team and lost a penalty against Ireland in the last minutes. The final position doesn't tell the whole story and we played some excellent rugby.

The day I patriotically celebrate finishing 3rd bottom will be a sad day indeed. And for the record ambition just to finish above England isn't patriotic it childish nonsense.
