Rudd Gullit on Cooper - he was one of the best players I ever seen.
Ray Wilkins on Cooper - he was a Brazilian trapped in a Scotsman's body.
Sir Walter on Cooper - God gave Davie a talent. He would not have been disappointed how he used it.
Cooper himself - I played for the club I loved.

Gutted never got to see him play. Obviously watched a lot of clips. did he have a lot of off games or games he couldn't be bothered in hence moody blue nickname?

Paul, him, Bobby Russell DJ and ally Dawson carried Rangers through very tough times when he first arrived, then came the likes of John McDonald and things got better, I’m trying to remember but yes Coop had some very poor games, mainly because he was exasperated by the incompetent players around him, when he was good he was fantastically good, like he had a left peg that could cut chips, his right leg was for standing on, but the moody blue thing Davie put on himself, he had a wicked sense of humour but just wanted to get to Hamilton and his betting shop when he was finished, the guys at ibrox called him Albert, after the Corrie character tatlock.

Paul he was a real talent to watch but you’re right he could also have some howlers. The thing with Cooper though was even when he was having a howler, he would still do one or two things of sheer magic and you’d let him off with the other 88 minutes. But when he was on it, he glided past players. Outstanding talent.

Cheers for the info lads. gutted never got to see him in the flesh. still missed my a few years. Myb1st game was a friday night at Ibrox. Beat Aberdeen 1 nil. laudrup squared it to mccoist to roll in.

I went to a reserve game and watched Coop and Robert Prytz having fun against Ayr United The skills both had were amazing to watch.
But nobody was better then Dave Cooper in any Rangers team I have seen. Sadly missed.

Still remember being at Coops testimonial against Bordeaux which I think finished 0-0 with us wearing the red and white kit! It was a wonderful occasion and full house 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

Cooper was an exceptional player, one of many great wingers that we have had at Rangers. I consider myself fortunate to be old enough to remember Davie Wilson, Willie Henderson and Willie Johnston. All of them great wingers. If only we had a Cooper, Wilson, Henderson or a Willie Johnston today!
