Celtic getting anywhere near 10 million for Frimpong is unbelievable business. He's average at best. This is where we have consistently let ourselves down in the past. Celtic seem to get top dollar for outgoing players but we seem to short change ourselves. Take Ross Mccrorie for example. He has played right back several times for both Rangers and Aberdeen and from what I've seen is much more of an asset than Frimpong was at Celtic. I know its not a direct comparison because its not Mccrories natural position but how can we sell Mccrorie for 350k and Frimpong goes for 10 million. I would bet that most SPL managers if offered one of the 2 players would choose Mccrorie. There is never 9.65 million of a difference. We need to up our game with player sales big time. I don't agree that Tav would be a 20 million pound player just because of Frimpong going for 10 million. Tav is nearly 30 years old and in the position he plays and the way he plays he will have 2 or 3 good years ahead before time will most probably catch up. If we were to sell Tav now I would say that 10-12 million would be fair.

Said the same all season. Our squad has a huge sell on value. I done a price list earlier in season and was scoffed at by most, not in a bad way just disagreeing which is fine, but I stand by my valuations as most will be leaving us for bigger things n more wages n better leagues so we can command those type of fees.

Plenty of players these day go onto to paly to 38. If Tav moved to a less brutal league in the warmth with no astro turf and proper refs he could get there no bother. 10-12 minimum.

MOCbear, my thoughts exactly, Tingtong for 10 million . Why are Rangers letting our players go on the cheap? As you say Mcrorie for 350 grand, I simply can't understand that. Come on Rangers please do not under value our championie players.

mocbear - at this stage in their development, I agree that McCrorrie is a better talent. However Frimpong has more potential. He has lightning pace and a low centre of gravity and when he gets going is very difficult to stop.

Leverkusen obviously think they can coach him and develop him into a bundesliga player. I don’t think McCrorie will play at that level.

A bit of a slight on their team and coaching staff if a young player like Frimpong thinks they have taken him as far as they can.

Moaning about selling McCrorie for 350k but happy to take Kamara for 50k, works both ways.

It's not a moan sweep it's just the reality. Zikos, decent point mate but there is never 9.65m of a difference between Mccrorie and Frimpong even factoring in potential. Would you agree?

Mocbear, I do agree at this stage in their development. One of the big factors though is drinking is a regular starter who Celtic wouldn’t normally want to sell and McCrorrie is a player that can’t get anywhere near our starting eleven who Rangers have been trying to offload for maybe 3 transfer windows now.

Therefore it isn’t a fair comparison in that sense. Maybe a Fairer comparison would be jack hendry and McCrorrie. Which btw also backs up your point as they have actually turned a profit on a player that was extremely poor.

Sweep1, I take it your not a very good mathematician or businessman? Remember- Its all about The Rangers.

Zikos, another good point my friend. Celtic look like getting 1.75m for Hendry which is unbelievable business for a guy who has never kicked a ball for them really. Edmundson when he has had a chance with us has been good. I remember him being outstanding against Braga away in particular. If my memory serves me correctly we paid 900k for Edmundson but if we sold today we would struggle to recoup that even although he has been a much more succesful signing for us than Hendry has for Celtic. There's a disconnect somewhere. Wilson has done wonders in terms of incoming transfers but a lot of work to be done in outgoings.
