So I just started watching the big night in and the 1st question that was asked to the great Walter smith was, who from the current Rangers team would get into your 9 in a row Rangers team and he answered James tavernier. So over the last 3 seasons the experts on here know more than 1 of the greatest footballers of all time and future Rangers legend for stopping 10 in a row, and the greatest Rangers manager of all time?

Agree john. Tav was honkin for years and quite rightly fans had opinion on him constantly leaking goals, same as goldson last season. But credit to both of them have improvwd massively this season both of them.

Absolutely wouldn’t say was honking g for years. Had a bad few Months last season. His numbers since he signed are astounding for a fullback. He’s immense player for us. I’ve not watched the documentary yet but if Walter

John, of course you are allowed an opinion but you were wrong (you have admitted so) .
Problem is that Tav would not be in the squad if some experts on here had had their way - he would heve been driven South for free.
Our manager showed faith in Tav despite a drop in form because he saw something that fans did not see.
Question is, would WS have backed him last year? I would assume that WS would have some inside information last year.

Walter backed Craig Moore when he was terrible and got slaughtered from fans and he turned into a colossus for rangers. Gerrard has really done a managerial masterclass in his support of tav no matter the furore to drop and get rid of him, he’s now done the same with Alfredo and hagi so there’s a pattern here that he backs his players to the hilt no matter dips in form or other people’s oppinion and so his players will do anything for him. He really is turning out to be a very very good manager. I only hope liverpool decide he’s too young when Klopp leaves or perhaps don’t want the curse of sir Alex happening to him like did to moyes van Gaal n Mourinho maybe get one in between Klopp and gerrard.

No I was not wrong. He was very poor and sold multiple goals. What he has done is upped his game
