Ed, here's a question I've always wondered about,

Not that I've any ideas myself of course, but how is it you become an editor on a site like this?

You guys always seem to have quite a good and close knowledge of what's happening at these clubs, so I'm presuming you must all have contacts?

Forgive me if I'm being crass, I'm just really curious.

{Ed001's Note - usually it comes down to personality, as we do have some sources to draw on from between us that can be passed on to the editors if they do not have contacts of their own. We look for people that can be trusted to stay calm and react with humour rather than nastiness as a rule. Though we do find that even the nicest person's patience is tested by editing after a while.}

That counts out most of the posters on here then ed as if they don't agree with you they throw there toys out the pram and slag you off. Usually always the same people.

{Ed001's Note - it is the same on every site to be honest. That is the internet for you. There are times when we all lose our temper due to other reasons, but there are very definitely a lot of people who just can't take anything said that isn't what they want to hear. It is why clickbait sites make so much money, they just tell people what they want to hear, even if they have to make it all up.}

Hi Edd, I actually think you do a good job but sometimes I would like a guy with Gers maybe at heart (no disrespect) .
On the other site their Edd007 can’t even call our club which is very disrespectful and maybe you are better being neutral. Cheers mate and keep up good work.

{Ed001's Note - we did have a Rangers editor at one time, but he was too busy with work I think, as he stopped coming on. He may just have got fed up, I am not sure. I would prefer to have a mix of neutral editors as well as one editor who supports each club to concentrate on their site. It is difficult though as we can't afford to pay editors and the abuse and nastiness we have to often read through means it is hard to find the right people. My problem is that I am very bad with names, so it is difficult to remember who is ok and who isn't. So trying to remember who is a nice guy and who isn't is not my forte. And every time I think I may have spotted a potential one, I am quickly proven wrong. Ed003 used to be the talent spotter, so to speak. He has proven very good at spotting who is a decent poster, but he is not able to get involved as much these days due to real life.}

So Ed do you’d guys do this on a voluntary basis then mate? No pay for you’re time?

{Ed001's Note - only myself and Ed33 get anything. Though, since the pandemic stuff started we are pretty much doing it for nothing ourselves. Normally we earn well in the transfer windows but then have to save it up to see us through the rest of the year. The lockdowns have killed that completely though.}

Dead on Ed, thanks for the reply.

As you say, it can be a thankless task at times, but we love you all the same!

Don't mind the banter, and some of the replies you read on here are absolute quality, but definitely no time for the spiteful or the nasty.

Keep her lit Ed and fellow posters, 55 ain't that far away.

{Ed001's Note - thanks Cletus. It is a totally different site to edit than it was just this time last year that's for sure! It is actually unusual in that it gets busier the better you do, most sites get busier when a team does badly. Not sure what that says about people that they are more likely to complain than they are celebrate!}

Edd, Glasgow will be some place when we win the Title and the celebrations will be something else as us Gers fans have had it tough and thanks to StevieG we have a team to be proud off.

{Ed001's Note - I just hope the vaccine means you can actually celebrate properly, as it is crap finally getting a title after a long time and not being able to get together with fellow fans to celebrate.}

12 Jan 2021 22:49:40
Once it’s all over and done with and we get back to normal we could have a 2 legged friendly with liverpool home and away to celebrate our title successes properly with fans and a match on the pitch, we could even donate the profits from the matches to each clubs chosen charities in the names of the victims of both clubs disasters. Would be a great occasion for many different reasons. 🔴⚪️🔵.

{Ed001's Note - that is a good idea.}

Hi Ed, as a retired newspaper editor I have nothing but admiration for the work you do, which is not merely editing but moderating, refereeing and arbitration. I come on here and I'm as guilty as anyone else for baiting, sniping and even sneering, but I love it really. Do keep up the good work, stick with your neutral stance and we'll continue laughing, arguing, shouting, making stuff up and generally enjoying your page.

{Ed001's Note - thank you tav. I am glad you enjoy it, that is the key thing.}

12 Jan 2021 23:38:23
Ed so what your saying is the busier it is on here then you make more pounds. Right see all the people that throw there toys out the pram, reveal yourself we need alright good barney to make ed some coin.

{Ed001's Note - hahaha! Normally that is how it works but during a lockdown advertisers put their wallets on lockdown too.}

Couldn't care less about celebrating properly as long as we put them back in there place and bring home 55.
