As we were talking about the one and only ally mccoist earlier, it got me thinking over the years as well as being our greatest ever legendary striker, he was also a very witty/ funny guy, who was media friendly and could talk and conduct himself very well 👍
I'm sure we all have terrific memories of ally's funny/ quirky patter and was very quick off the cuff 👌One of my many favourite stories of mccoist, as i'm sure a lot of you will know, was when he signed for kilmarnock and his ex rangers teammate bobby williamson was his manager. As we all know ally was always running late for training etc
As the story goes on ally's 2nd day with killie he was running late for training and williamson knowing what coisty was like was waiting on him. When ally eventually arrived,
williamson said to ally that it was a killie policy that any player turning up late for training, had to put a tenner in the charity box at the door. Ally said fine and put his tenner in the box. The next day ally was running even later for training and as williamson was starting to walk further away he seen ally coming in the distance. Ally shouted sorry boss, and i'll put my 20quid in the charity box. Williamson shouted no it's only a tenner and ally shouted aye boss but that covers the morra 😂😂 Absolutely superb and no wonder williamson shook his head and buckled with laughter 😂 Coisty was a class act in every way 👌.

I really feel so unhappy and all that happened to ally mccoist as rangers manager. I was sure and so wanted him to be a complete success,
just like he was as a player for us 👌. It was the right job at the wrong time for ally, but his loyalty to our club and what he did and had to put up with, will never be forgotten!
He gave me many a great celebration night out, with all his many winning goals against celtic and in finals to win us trophies etc👍I'll always be grateful we had super ally!

Ally didn't stand a chance with the state we were in with all the rats in our club. Walter and sir alex would not have done any better under those circumstances. Ally deserves a medal for keeping our club and fans together when no one else wanted to know. 👍.

A naturally funny guy. Just as you said, coops, right job, wrong time. Did Walter not advise him to turn down the job?

His comeback against Hibs from injury that goal after coming on as a sub only Ally could have pulled off.

Not so sure tbh cold. Look at the dross he signed and mental wages. We still had 2nd highest wage bill in country in 3rd division. Kyle, black etc.

Ally would never turn the job down at Rangers, the club is part of his DNA. Never forget that it was down to him that titles weren't stripped when Charles Green was ready to accept that demand. Ally was the one who stood firm in it. In my opinion, we will never know exactly what the toll on Ally's physical and mental health was while Rangers manager. One thing that cannot be denied is that he is 100% Rangers and always will be. He will always be a Rangers legend in my eyes, regardless of how his tenure as manager worked out.

I was there at breeze block boulevard in the cup final against hibs, when coisty came on as a sub and scored that over head kick, after he had suffered his broken leg against portugal! It was roy of the rovers stuff and typical ally mccoist 👌.
