Regarding the best Celtic players I have ever seen, setting aside all bias and dislike of them, these players were top class:
Ronnie Simpson
Danny McGrain
Billy McNeill
Jimmy Johnstone
Kenny Dalglish
Bobby Lennox
Henrik Larsson
McNeill is arguably the best centre half I've ever seen.

My family knew big Billy well and his old mum stayed down the North Road in Bellshill. I met him when I was a teenager and he was a brilliant guy and no one had a bad word to say about him. I'm so glad they are putting up a statue for him at Bellshill Cross, the man deserves it!
Even though he was a Celtic legend, Kenny Dalglish will always be one of my heroes and the best player Scotland has ever produced! My first pair of football boots were Puma Dalglish with the silver Puma logo.

Doiger, I’d agree with that but would add Bobby Murdoch. Always remember him at Middlesbrough, dodgy knees and limited mobility yet he could spray accurate 35 yard passes whilst Souness completed his apprenticeship.

I forgot about Murdoch, yes a great player with vision. I didn't include Tommy Gemmell. I played against him when he was in his twilight years playing amateur football one Sunday morning when he was Dundee manager and he still tried to kick lumps out of everything that moved, including me but not the ball! He was a big, big bloke.

Doiger, believe that was World Club match against Racing Club Argentina when Ronnie Simpson was struck with an object. Years ago whilst working in Argentina I discussed those games with a local and consensus was that Celtic were best team and Racing had to resort to on field intimidation and violence to win. BIG TAM’s reaction to intimidation was to double up on the violence. Great to hear he was still dishing it out years later in Sunday leagues.

Kenny Dalglish was the best all round player Scotland ever produced, the sort of player that would bring more to a team than any other player mentioned.
Yes, Davie Cooper was the most skillful Scottish player I have ever had the honour of watching, but he was not the best.
Back to the subject of the best Celtic players, there was one who the old Celtic supporting boys in my local used to wax lyrical about, a player called Charlie Tully. He was well before my time, but apparently a wizard of a player.
