Given that Jones and Edmondson are on the way out not sure sacking them is the way to go , if they are free agents they could get a signing on fee that the club could receive as a transfer fee, could be viewed as them profiting from their actions.

Doubt we could sack them. It would be borderline but I think a good lawyer would make it difficult. Just take offers for them jan n make some money 👍.

02 Nov 2020 21:27:38
Can’t sack but could release from contract which would be expensive. Better they go out on loan in January in advance of transfer in summer. Good to see Jones excluded from Northern Ireland squad.

02 Nov 2020 21:59:10
Think this is jones last year, he may well be released, if it’s going to championship then that will prob be case. If he’s going to spell then we’ll prob be lumbered with most of his wages. I don’t see us letting Edmundson leave until Katic is back fit tbh. Too much a risk with balogun and Helander injury problems. Can’t see us spending money on a centre back when have 5 on books. I think Edmundson might survive this.

I haven't forgotten that we spent a million quid on Edmundson. 1,000,000. We can't just tell him to piss off. Jones and George will be repremanded, then Jones will be banished and George will be second teamed until he learns better. What a bullet we have dodged with these two idiots. Absolute shambles the pair of them. Jones again has showed why Stevie doesn't play him. Wrong attitude and thinks he's the big I am. Red card, driving, now worst of all this. Not fit to wear the jersey. A mistake yes, but one too many.

02 Nov 2020 22:16:32
Why couldn't they be sacked? They didn't go to the party with intention of being honest about it to the club and self isolating for 14 days after it did they. This is very serious matter👍.

02 Nov 2020 22:40:39
i for one am very happy they got caught, imagine them not, they don't have any brains to be honest and thinking we have the team in jeopardy here. they would come into training today, put everyone in risk and force self isolation for god knows how many of the first team.

02 Nov 2020 23:28:45
Well here's what I know. In light of C.V. players contracts amended to include behaviour during current climes. To protect both club and players. Would have thought at very least players were culpable of serious breach of contract and could be released with no financial recompense to them whatsoever. Meaning no financial penalty to gers whatsoever. Can't say behaviour merits sacking. Just stupid boys, with money in pocket. Maybe leave it up to club regs and their reps.

03 Nov 2020 06:35:47
Coldo none of us actuallly know the legal side of this and I very much doubt they can be sacked for this.

03 Nov 2020 08:48:20
Why KJA9, other public figures have. What makes players or you and I any different? 👍.

03 Nov 2020 09:03:46
Which public figures have been sacked Coldo🤔
SNP minister still in office.
Boris's right hand man still in office.

03 Nov 2020 09:29:30
There's been a good few, particularly during the first lockdown. Its been news stories. Couldn't tell you names though👍.

03 Nov 2020 11:42:42
Loads of cases of other footballers, and more high profile ones getting away with the exact sa. e and not getting sacked coldo. Like I said, I think legally it would be hard to sack them as they could simply argue others have got away with worse. don't think a single footballer has been sacked for a breach of the rules mate, which says a lot.

03 Nov 2020 13:18:57
So you're just making stuff up to suit your argument Coldo🤔
That wouldn't be like you🤭😂😂😂
I'll help you out since you are embarrassing yourself. The only high profile person to fall on her sword was Scotland's Medical Advisor who had travelled to her second home in Fife and was then found to be lied about how many visits she'd taken.
Now considering she was responsible for setting the lockdown rules, it was quite right that she resigned.
But 2 footballers with brains in there feet? Different kettle if fish altogether. IMHO👍.

03 Nov 2020 15:26:35
Unbelievable how some people think, they can't be sacked " as an employer and trade unionist, I can assure you gross misconduct is usually followed by one outcome, that's not to say that will happen, but ruling it out and saying they " can't be sacked " is poppycock of the highest order, of course they can be sacked, how can they not be?

03 Nov 2020 15:51:30
Everyone knows they can be sacked, but they won't be.
Big difference giving some one the sack from an office or factory than 2 valuable assets such as footballers.
Morality left football years ago.

03 Nov 2020 16:12:27
Made up? You're a riot spudnut/ bluebell. The chief medical officer or whatever her title was would have been sacked if she hadn't resigned during the first lockdown👍.

03 Nov 2020 17:12:43
I'm a union rep at work tom thumb and breaking the law doesn't necessarily mean gross misconduct in work mate. Considering c. v wasnt about when both players signed, I doubt there will be anything specific in contracts regarding it. I think it was stupid of the 2, and I think they are done at rangers. However i don't think it's a sacking offence tbh.

03 Nov 2020 18:00:57
Herewego. What they did / intended to do could be deemed as gross negligence which is gross misconduct. It will obviously be down to how the club interpret it👍.

03 Nov 2020 19:42:38
I doubt they can be sacked. Unless they were issue amendments to their contract highlighting breach of C.V. rules constitute gross misconduct.
Employment layers would have a filled day.
What we have is a serious breach of trust with both off them. So move them on for whatever we can get.

03 Nov 2020 20:13:55
Yeah, but there's the catch coldo when you write could be deemed as. Could be isn't cut and dried, and there's very little cases to compare. Greenwood and foden, kept job. Bolingoli?, kept job. Aberdeen 8, kept jobs.

High ranking Gov officials still in office. Has a precedent been set of someone getting sacked for the same yet? How do we prove beyond doubt they intended to come to training? It's too grey.

04 Nov 2020 18:42:52
You're right herewego it is a grey area. We don't know. We are just giving our opinion. I just wouldn't write it off that's all I'm saying mate👍.
