Itten and Roofe, does that excite anybody? Johnson! does that get the juices flowing? Our transfer policy is shocking, if Morelos leaves we are it trouble and that's just one player.

Itten hasn't had enough minutes to show anything yet. Its difficult to make an impression when getting 15 mins at the end of games. I know he started the other night but needs a few 90 mins under his belt before he can be judged. The signing of Roofe worried me. He's scored a couple of goals but generally he's been average at best. Again though he needs minutes to prove his worth because he's not played a lot of football this year. Johnson doesn't inspire me. I've never heard of him until we were linked but again, if we sign him I will give him every opportunity to impress.

Believe it or not MOCBear I wasn't having a go at Itten or Roofe and of course they have not had anywhere near enough time to get up to speed but we need players that can come straight into the team and make an impact, if Morelos leaves then who have we got? Our tactics are crap therefore we rely on individuals and I think we have to sign proven players, they are out there.

I keep hoping and wanting Itten to improve but so far he's been disappointing. Roofe is injury prone, Defoe can't last a full match and Morelos will be ofski.

OK mrgrumpy, I would not have signed Roofe and probably not Itten but Gerrard plays a different system to that which I think is needed to win the SPFL so the players that I would have signed are not relevant to this debate. I am not privy to how much we can pay in wages as opposed to what other leagues pay but I would be looking to the German and Dutch leagues as they play a similar style to ours and players could probably come straight in and be at ease with the pace, physicality etc. that is needed in Scotland. A player with a poor injury history is not going to make it in Scotland, IMO.

I appreciate it's not easy just to name names in regards to possible players I just thought that since there are proven players available out there some names might have been mentioned.
