Just watched the highlights of the 2002 Scottish Cup Final when we beat them 3-2 with Lovenkrand's last-minute goal. What a game. What a team. Wish we had an inspirational captain right now like Barry Ferguson. As for this weekend's games, maybe Motherwell will be up for it against Celtic after their big Europa League win against Glentoran. First, we must to do the business against Hamilton. 3-0 with Itten, Morelos and Roofe scoring.

Don’t understand why he’s not involved In the coaching of one of the young teams. Can’t think of a better ex player for the kids to look up to and be inspired by. He’s obv a decent coach by how he’s done at kelty hearts. He is quite a big presence when you take into account how he behaved, quite rightly, towards le guen and Levein. Perhaps too big of a personality to have around the place in some of the decision makers at Ibrox? More of a question than an opinion.

In gerrard because he has not taking his football skill to coaching, he only gets coaching jobs because of name.

John25 how do you know of Thomson being miles ahead of SG on coaching ability? Have you been coached by both? Let me say for the record here that Thomson was a terrible footballer, in every respect. Fans romanticise the past but I'm not one of these. The guy was utterly useless and the fact he's training the youths does nothing but concern me.

John25 I suspect that may be the case mate although did he naw just win the league with kelty hearts? Must be decent although maybe not brilliant. None of us will know tbh. It’s either he’s coaching ability or he’s personality as with his career he should be a shoe in to be given a coaching role at Ibrox in some capacity or another.

Seeker I remember his performance in Europe in the early years of advocaats reign and he was simply outstanding. What a player. He made a mug of matters to the point lothar grabbed him by the throat 😂 2 legs v Leverkusen and there manager, was it Christophe daum, or something like that, raving about him. Possibly made a £20m bid for him after that? He ran games v Parma again the likes of Baguio veron Ortega. Psv Eindhoven at Ibrox when we won 4-1. Although a certain derek McKinney got moth that day for putting the shackles on luck nillis. Guy was sheer class. Should have went down south to Arsenal or pool when he was in his prime before the injuries. Imagine him and Gerrard in same team.

Absolutely no doubt about Ferguson's quality, one of the best midfielders I've seen at ibrox, but met him a few times when kelty have been playing one of our local teams down here in D&G and found him to be an arrogant wee person. Just my opinion.
