Don't get the government response to the Aberdeen players and the threat to Scottish football.
There are no fans in the stadiums so why are footballers treated differently from the rest of us.
I can go to the pub and still do my job and deal with the consequences if I catch C.V. so why can a football player not do the same?
If a team lose players then the club has to play youths or forfeit the match.
Can someone explain why it would be necessary to shut down all football?

DK19, footballers are treated differently because they are allowed to play a team sport that on a match day they are mixing with 30/ 40 people at close proximity. Yes we can go to bars and restaurants etc but we are not allowed to play 11 a side football because of the risks. There is apparently more risk of catching or passing CV on when excercising as you exert more breath and sweat etc. Make no bones about it, footballers are taking the risk of mixing with each other and taking CV back to their own families and that is why they aren't allowed to take the extra risks of going to restaurants and bars. Take a look over in America where NFL players are being allowed to opt out of playing for the full season because its recognised just how serious the risk of CV is.

I can only assume DK19 that when you go to work you don’t climb all over your colleagues mixing sweat and saliva?
Most people when they go to work socially distance and wear ppe. Footballers are not able to do this and so have to be treated differently.
If they can’t adhere to the guidelines then there will be no football during the C.V. - simple as that.
If they want to keep their jobs then follow the guidelines. If they can’t then maybe they can get a job at your work and go for a pint in the pub on a Saturday night.

Zikos, what difference would it make if I did?
Providing I and everyone else involved were tested (as is the case before all matches) then there would be no chance of passing on anything other than bad breath.
If they have tested negative there is no need for PPE or am I missing something?
If Aberdeen were forced to play whilst missing key players It would be a pretty good deterrent to ensure that all other players followed the rules and would not threaten the whole of football.
No logic for me in these threats - would be different if crowds were allowed but the clubs are in their own bubbles.

DK19 - I think it’s because the testing method and results are not perfect and there is quite a high level of false results.
Chances are if all those players were tested the following day they would have had negative results. If they then played that day there would be another team infected who would have went home and spread the challenge to over a dozen families and so on and so on.

But the risk to anyone under 60 is virtually nil. Wrap up those who are at risk and let's get on with our lives.

Well Ed I admit I don't know as much as you cause you've got the red ink and the "ban" button but I can read the facts.
The facts state that >96% of deaths are aged over 65
There is more chance of drowning if you are under 60.
99% of C.V. patients have 100% recovered.
What do I know?

I know a number of people who have had it under the age of 60 and not one has 100% recovered as they are left with scarring in their lungs.
