Our right back has been awful, don't think there is any chance of him being dropped under current management. Not sure he's the answer though.

Based on he's a hot prospect and tav hasent been anything above a 6 out of10 since hisfirst season in spfl and wee all want a youth to burst onto scene maybe start there.

As daft as it may sound Tierney was given a few years to show what he can do and got his big move. Hickey got to play and now he is getting tours of all the European giants. Patterson deserves the run based on talent but also Tav's poor form. Gerrard talks about competition for places but has never let Tav be challenged.

Think the lad Patterson does deserve a chance to prove himself with a run in the 1st team. We won’t know what he is like until this happens. As previously mentioned Tierney and Hickey were given their opportunity at a young age and look how they have flourished. If Gerrard is just going to use Patterson now and again then the lad is wasting his time at the club and would be better off going out on loan or leaving. Tavernier is one of the poorest defenders I’ve seen at the club recently and constantly makes the same mistakes.

He's only ever let katic be challenged that's the truth of it, he has his favourites and no matter how bad they play they will not be dropped.

Don't think you can just throw him in after 20 minutes here and there. Would probably need to bring someone in. Can't see it happening though.

Tavernier a headless chicken, I'd play Patterson see how he does! Even big mcrorie would get in at right back before tavernier in my team.

Its plain to see that any team of any level can see that the way to attack the gers is on Tav's side of the park, we see it time and time again but because he is "captain" nothing gets done about it, i'm in my sixties now, and he has to be one of the worst full backs at defending that I have ever seen in my life!
