I know we can't rule anything out in football as we've all seen things happen that we just can't understand why it happened. But i'm as close to 💯% that i can be that steven gerrard, no matter what offer he received from bristol city, would not leave rangers for them! To go a bit further here, how many on these pages would want steven gerrard to leave rangers and take the bristol city manager's job? Be honest!

SGL, Who knows what Gerrard is thinking. Maybe he wants to stay at Rangers and finish what he started. Maybe he's not getting what he wants at Rangers, maybe he 2 wants to be closer to home, maybe money talks. Stranger things have happened. Personally I think he'll stay though mate.

Honestly wouldn’t be too fussed if he left tomorrow. If I was chairman I would be straight in the phone to Nigel Pearson. I think he is a far better manager than SG.
He laid the foundations for what Leicester have done. At Watford they were 7 points from safety and now may stay up. Before Lockdown I think west ford were one of the best side along with Everton.

Nigel Pearson for steven gerrard not for me guys! I would rather have gerrard as i truly believe we're just around the corner from success under stevie G! Not saying pearson isn't a decent manager but i believe gerrard will without a doubt go on to be a better manager than him! Its all about opinions guys and this is mine!

What's Pearson ever won as a manager and why has he just been sacked? Utter tripe. And I think Glasgow is probably closer to Liverpool than Bristol. SG is going nowhere!

Doiger - I think he has won a lot as a manager. Might be wrong but think the only title he hasn't won in England might be the EPL - could be wrong though.
He is a far better manager than Gerrard imho.
SGL - Gerrard might have better potential but Pearson is currently the better, more successful manager. Who would you rather have as manager, Pep or Arteta? same applies here.
Also the season he left Leicester (prior to them winning the league) I think they had the best run of any team after Christmas, which for me Ranieri basically kept what Pearson started, going.
But you right - it's all about opinions and in my opinion SG is still learning on the job and Rangers should not be a training ground for young up and coming managers to learn all their mistakes before moving onto better things.

I will be very surprised if Gerrard goes to Bristol. I don't believe that it is about money for him. It is about winning things and setting himself up for the Liverpool Job. I also believe that he is a man of honour. As for being closer to home, Glasgow is closer to Liverpool than Bristol. While I am sure that the Bristol City Owner will throw money at a new manager in an attempt to win promotion however there are many teams in the Championship that are as well placed if not beet placed to win promotion and in comparison to Rangers, Bristol City are a nobody.

Pearson won League 1 with Leicester City in 2009 and the Championship with them in 2014. Otherwise, nothing as manager. Of course he has bee around the management scene for more than 20 years with 8 or 9 teams. Gerrard is at Rangers as a project and will see it out, even if it takes 5 or 6 years. He will end up at Liverpool one day no doubt, that is probably his destiny. Before then, he'll take us back to glory. KJA9, my quip about the distance between Bristol and Liverpool was just that, a quip. Calm down.

Steven Gerrard has only just started his managerial career, whereas nigel Pearson has been a manager for a lot more years than Gerrard, so that my friend is a hypothetical statement by you. Take in all the facts, before coming away with something like that mate, honestly!

Maybe he is sick and tired of all of the greeting faced glory hunters. We are certainly in better shape since the dross he inherited but still not good enough for some. Even the blind ones should realise success was going to take time.

DOIGER, going by KJA9 and some others on here comments on steven Gerrard they most definitely want him to go and see the back of him! My message to them is simple, imo Gerrard will win the league with rangers and go on to be a very good manager, so be careful what you doubters wish for!
I'm totally behind our manager because i can see and break down the full picture of the mess he inherited and the blocks he's already put in place for us and him to be successful and we will! ðŸ‘👌
If anyone is telling me on here that Gerrard and his management team haven't improved us and got us much closer to celtic, then i make NO apologises in saying they just don't know much about football and that's the nuts and bolts of it!
