Big seasons ahead for several players imo.
Tav needs to prove he can lead a team.
Goldson hasn't been anywhere near consistent enough past few seasons.
Aribo, Kent and kamara all found wanting last season.
Davis bottled the challenge 2nd half of the season when he should've been the player grabbing the games by the scuff of the neck.
Defoe looks done but should still manage 15 goals in this league.

If Tavernier was up to the job he would have proved it by now. Goldson is always prone to mistakes but also agree it’s time Kent and Aribo showed more consistency. Was hoping to see Kamara sold.

For me Tav has had his chance to show this. Now been at the club for 5 years now and has proven time again to not have that winning mentality we need.
Goldson i think deserves another season, has shown in glimpsed the quality he has however i do still think he's a bit soft so needs to improve if we are to win anything.
Aribo looked to improve as season went on, think he could be more regular in the side now he may be settled a bit more, got to remember he's still a young lad.
Kent the go to boo boy. One of our top players however the weight of our whole side on his shoulders at times when morelos form dipped proved too much. Hopefully he can be back flying this year i'm confident he will be.
Kamara isn't good enough to win titles imo. If we could get a few mil for him as suggested i'd move him on.
Davis still shows his quality but two shocking second half of seasons. Has his legs gone? i'm not sure. Notably when the pitches became shocking in second half of the season he looks half the player. Think he should be a bit more a squad player this year.
Defoe signing baffles me, looks decent enough at home against poor opposition but other than a few goals offers the side nothing. His wages could have been much better spent elsewhere in my opinion.

Sweep1, totally disagree with you strongly regarding stevie davis and jermain defoe! What are you honestly consuming pal? 🤔Steven davis far from done, although i do think that given his age, gerrard should/ will pick and choose when davo should start games, ie. probably the bigger games, i'd imagine. Davo was terrific for us in the first half of last season and got a bad injury at pittodrie, where he was kicked up and down! He never recovered from that injury and THAT'S WHY davis's form dipped, nothing to do with him being finished! Jermain defoe will be very important for us again this season,
with his contribution of regular goals, from the bench. He's as fit as anyone, with a physique like a guy 10 years his junior! Defoe's goals will be very important for us and is easily the best goalscorer/ finisher at rangers.

Agree with the poster that says Tav has had long enough to prove he has a winning mentality. He clearly doesn't have it and never will.
This season of all seasons, we 100% require someone who is absolutely determined to win to lead us on the field or we can forget it.

Tav is nowhere near good enough and has had 5 seasons to prove otherwise, Goldson can be very good but also very rubbish. He needs to just stick to do the basics well.
Davis for me hasn't the legs to go box to box anymore and should be deployed as a DM at all times. Just split the 2 CH when we attack make them almost a 3, it is a position that requires very little running and he could do it in his sleep, this would also give the other 2 CM the freedom to go box to box.
Defoe, at Ibrox when teams are camped in, no worries but away from home, not ideal unless it's in a 2.
I feel we need to change shape slightly or we need a new RB and CH.
I feel we'd do better with a 3-5-2 or a 4-2-3-1.
But what do I know.

Steven Davis was injured up in Pittodrie in December when the ref allowed Aberdeen to kick us off the park. He was out for most of the second part of the season.
Defoe needs someone close to him to get the best out of him. SG put Scotty Arfield beside him and they were excellent at the tail end of the previous season. He still scored enough as second striker last season to suggest he will be an important part of the squad.
Also hope Tav rams it right up all of his doubters.

Tav is in the final year of his contract so for me we need to decide does he merit an extension or do we hope to cash in. I don't believe that he is a Leader but then I don't believe that we have a true leader at the Cub right now. (Davis, yes if he was younger but not now) .
Goldson makes too many mistakes for me but when you look at our stats we didn't lose a lot of goals and a lot of the problem lies in midfield and a lack of goals at the other end.
Aribo, and Kent have the ability and I would hope that they come good this season. Some players take longer than others to settle in, hopefully this is their season.
Kamara I would try and sell. He is a decent football player but he has the heart of a mouse! We need midfield players that can look after themselves and he goes missing far too often.
Davis got battered against Aberdeen last season and never recovered. We need a Holding midfield player that controls midfield, that can look after himself and his colleagues and doesn't get intimidated by guys like Brown. If there is one position in the team where we need a leader and a winner that is it. I personally don't seee Davis being any more than backup.
Defoe lcan only go on for so long and although we are fortunate that he is of a quality that will score goals, we can't be relying on him to replace Morellos if he is out for a few games. We must sign a quality striker, two if we loose Morelos.

Some of u guys have short memories and need a reality check when it comes to the market we are in. Tav has been the best RB in the country for a good few years and his assists are invaluable, could we replace him and have the same assist return? Kamara was the best 50k we have ever spent and After a dip in form/ confidence we should get shot of him? Sell Goldson who is arguably our best CB when we have lost Katic to injury? Defoe and Davie legs have gone? That’s hilarious . Who are we replacing these guys with and how much would it cost to replace them?
