Wouldn't now be perfect opportunity to give youth a go when no fans in stadium less pressure.

Agree3 Disagree0

Once we've stopped 9 3/ 4 titles crack on pressures off untill then best team no matter what age.

27 Jun 2020 09:28:44
What about getting the fans behind the players no matter what age they are? Take the pressure off by supporting the whole team even when playing poorly or are inexperienced or when they make a mistake?

If you are suggesting that the fans are a negative pressure on any player we have a big problem!

27 Jun 2020 10:45:44
How about the players giving 100% so that the fans don't need to criticize as they certainly weren't giving their all at the end of the season. They get paid huge amounts, so therefore I'd expect 100% commitment.

27 Jun 2020 11:53:46
yes DK fans do cause negative pressure. opposition teams know simply that if they frustrate the team at Ibrox for 50-60mins our so called fans will get on the teams back.

27 Jun 2020 12:21:25
I'm with you all the way on that Stuck mate, but it seems we are not allowed to express our feelings on our players poor performances.

One in particular knows who they are, starts with a "J" always slagging off other dedicated fans opinions thinking only he / she is correct.

I am nearly 70 years old and in my time of watching, playing, coaching and writing about football I have hardly ever seen a professional player who deliberately doesn't try. It is just not in the nature of the beast. Sure, criticise when a player is off form or sluggish or has simply lost it (it happens) but don't ever believe this rubbish that they are not giving 100%. They are. It's just that their 100%, like yours, differs from time to time, as individuals, as a group, whether you or on a high or a low, occasionally the pressure and, the most debilitating of all, thousands of people who are supposed to support you give you grief and abuse week in week out.

27 Jun 2020 14:10:41
I've been watching football for years and there are definitely times when players are not giving 100%. This results in substitutions then perhaps being dropped. Rangers certainly did not give 100 % towards the end of the season.

27 Jun 2020 14:17:58
DK would say that this year will be the worst for fans pressure. Right or wrong the fans will be more anxious than ever for the league title. Pretty sure it happens at all big clubs.

27 Jun 2020 15:44:48
Thinking calling people"so called fans" is a bit out of order tbh. Sometimes, criticism is due. If not at times towards the end of season, it would have just been accepting mediocrity.

27 Jun 2020 17:05:45
Think conflating different aspects of preparation and performance of the modern footballer with statement “trying 100pc”. A number of our senior players have not been mentally prepared, motivated and focused to do the job required of a rangers player, and have let us down On matches. Does that mean they are not “trying 100pc” what ever that means?

27 Jun 2020 17:17:32
Herewego, what you are saying if correct, noone is above criticism, however negative criticism by its definition is not supporting. "Fan" by definition is fanatical supporter, supporter by definition is someone who champions, promotes or advocates. Criticism isn't there in any of those definitions. So i am correct in saying its so called fans who are booing and criticising a team or individual during matchplay. it doesn't not make the person play better on the park, indeed the opposite effect is true. A person being criticised on the park will usually hide, not want the ball for fear of further criticism. Of course after the game there is adequate time to criticise but often you will find a good player will be self critical anyway.

27 Jun 2020 18:07:34
Herewego55 who said that? Can't find it here. Are you adding something that isn't there just to suit your narrative?

27 Jun 2020 18:10:24
The Stuck, what nonsense! Loss of form or making mistakes does NOT equate to not giving 100%!

27 Jun 2020 21:15:34
So to summarise what a few are saying.

It’s ok to cause one of our players or even the whole team to lose confidence and therefore lose form (and potentially lose matches) so long as the fans can have their say and shout their opinions?

My view is that the fans should be the extra man that helps the team when we are not playing well right through the final whistle. Encourage and support anyone who is having a poor game, boo the opposition.

27 Jun 2020 23:29:07
Covenanter, what nonsense, read my post, I never mentioned players making mistakes. My post is about players not giving their all, not giving 100 %. Wake up, it happens my friend and if Rangers players continue to give less than that they are not good enough for Rangers. I can certainly mention a few. Morelos being 1, fantastic player when he tries but on occasion his head goes down this not giving 100 %. As I say Morelos is just an example, he's proved he can do it.

27 Jun 2020 23:51:24
Covenanter, geesadod said"our so called fans will turn on the team" maybe read before you accuse me of twisting things mate 👍.

27 Jun 2020 23:56:34
I get you're point geesa, I'm not a half time booer, never have been, but I also understand the frustration of others, when being served up what can only be described as dross the last few games mate.

28 Jun 2020 01:02:03
To an extent dk, those players are paid money most people can only dream of to handle the pressure of the jersey. They can't be immune to criticism, that's not realistic mate.

28 Jun 2020 10:36:12
55 it’s not realistic for fans to expect a player low on confidence or form to react positively when his own fans boo him every time he gets the ball.

If fans want the team to win, they should get behind the team no matter what. For years Liverpool have talked about the Kop being the 12th man but our fans (not all) prefer to share their opinions on poor form whilst the team are on the pitch.

Last season you could see Kamara shy away from the ball because of the abuse he was getting when his form had dipped.

28 Jun 2020 13:32:57
It shows how far we've falling, when people just accept mediocrity. That's my only point dk. Hamilton beat us at ibrox now, people think folk aren't entitled to voice that it's not acceptable.

28 Jun 2020 20:12:47
DK I don't think booing your own players is what anyone is suggesting nor was I. The problem with being a fan is it's ruled by emotion so a bad pass when were under pressure will be met with a sigh or more from the stand. Good play the reverse. Point I'm making is it means even more this year as they are going for 9 and 3/ 4 I'm sure passions will be higher. We need to find a way of shifting the pressure on to the Celtic as early as we can and hopefully watch them crumble.
