An "coworker" is banging on about how we should have at least 1 historical title less - Dumbarton in the 1890s should be awarded the title? - that this should be looked at by the SFA/ SPFL. Bearing in mind he is one of them, what is the/ is there any issue here?

Rangers title with Dumbarton was shared due to the football rules at that time.
And Rangers have never hidden that fact. We've always had a footnote as a reference point. ðŸ‘
The Tim's on the other hand are claiming this year's title ( Lennon ) as one of their greatest achievements. Embarrassing. ðŸ‘😂😂😂.

Both teams finished on the same points with Rangers on an inferior goal difference.
Goal difference wasn't in the rules then, so instead a playoff took place and the teams drew so the league was won by both.
Tell your workmate nobody can go back in time and rewrite those rules, not even Peter Lawwell.

Dumbarton had a better goal difference and a better head to head than Rangers but the rules stated a play off game should be played to determine the champions.
The play off game finished 2-2 and the league title was halved.
Rangers were in the driving seat with 2 games to play but lost 2-1 to Celtic at Ibrox.

the title wasnt halved it was shared. you don't get shared 2nd place and no first place, you get shared first place and no second place. it is still a shared title not a half a title.
