SGL - If SG brought in Ferguson it would be to bolster the midfield and not remove anyone. SG likes to rotate players, so a player of his strength and dexterity, playing in a better side, would be an asset. Same would apply to Cosgrove and Dykes.

All 3 aren't good enough.

Here's what i honestly think regarding lewis ferguson fellow bears. I think at 20 years old he's a good midfielder and will imo improve year on year and get better and better. I wouldn't want rangers to sign him at the minute. I'd monitor his progress at aberdeen and leave him playing first team football with them, for the next 2 years or so. If gerrard does rate ferguson highly, the only way he should move to sign him now, would be if some other club were making big moves to sign him. By leaving him continually playing first team football in the aberdeen first team, will get him to where he's probably going to be quicker, as opposed to sitting on the rangers subs bench, game after game.
Do you see where i'm coming from guys? He's not rangers first team material ATM!

Totally agree true blue. I’ve been impressed with Ferguson every time I’ve seen him play. Strong, tall and aggressive. He would learn loads from Gerrard, McAllister, Davis, jack and Arfield.
Also like the look of dykes upfront to compliment Morelos and Defoe. If Morelos does leave then I would want us to spend big on a new centre forward. I remember Walter blew his full budget on jelavic.
Not so keen on Cosgrove .

Think because we've spent time in the lower leagues and Scottish football in general is poor we've forgotten what a good player is. Dykes, Ferguson, Cosgrove and the rest of the usual SPL garbage are not Rangers Quality.
Players in the past we have taken from other SPl clubs are proven over successful seasons in a higher quality SPL. Getting sick of hearing about the recent garbage.
Now we are relying on Aberdeen and Livingston to supply us with players that some how we can't scout. What happens next, Aberdeen/ Livingston sell for good profit and they go and get another Cosgrove/ thug and we sign them in 2 years time for a few million, whos the mugs.
Sure there are a few exceptions but at the moment the other clubs seem to be some supporters first choice market which IMO is not going to get Rangers back. WAKE UP .

Rangers can not afford for 20 somethings to get better as we will be priced out of contention. Rangers have to gamble on potential and saleability. Gone are the days when we can pick up talent for nothing.

SGL surely if Gerrard rates him so highly we should try and sign him now and maybe loan him back to Aberdeen that way it’s more cost effective cause if he improved more over the next 2 years then he’d eventually be out of our price range and also that way he wouldn’t play against us!

TB, We have our own 20s to gamble into the first team. The other clubs don't have a magic touch or secret market. We as support only see these so called players do okay in the the SPL think they will do okay for us. Maybe okay, but okay is not good enough for Rangers. The SPL is full of garbage and has been for years. The rest of the footballing world has moved on, Scottish football is really bad and not moved on from the 90s even poss the 80s. Show me the stats that prove me wrong.

I see posters that say Ferguson would be the ball winner in midfield that we need. Weve got Ross McCrorie who could do that job. Ross isn’t a boy anymore time to show faith in our own guys.

I think the sensible option is not to wait until Ferguson grows into a stronger all round player when his value would only increase, I would take him now, and sell Kamara to fund it, so no cost incurred, may even make a profit on the deals. Kamara good silky player but not suited to SPL whereas Ferguson is tried and tested, for me it’s a no brainier.

Why are we even contemplating buying 20 year old players from other clubs in the SPL. Our youth teams are doing great at the moment. Surely we have as good, or better young players than all the other teams in the SPL. I really am totally bemused by it all.

Morning SGL, I hear a lot about players not being Rangers first team class or as you've said material, what exactly is that unless they have played for the Club, and not lived up to expectation. We cannot assume anything about a player in our jersey until they've had a chance, I agree also as someone has said, myself included, that we don't have the funds to go out and buy the so called finished article, we've tried that before and it almost finished us, I feel young Lewis is ready now TBH.

What i said was that we will get dykes for between 750k-£1million and that's all we should pay for him, no more. Strikers usually go for more money than midfielders, obviously depending on how decent they are. So if you're going to question me Paul86,get your facts right my friend.

I think the point was Aberdeen apparently wanting £2-3m for Ferguson.
Livingston have an asking price of £2m for dykes.
Coop might want to spend £750k - £1m for Dykes, it doesn't mean we could get him for that.
Let's wait and see how much these players go for?

SGL, we paid £7 Million for Kent, and, although I see a player in him, I'm not convince he was worth anything like that fee, so yes, I would pay £2-3 Million for Ferguson, I rate the young man, he may not have the skill of his uncle, but I'll bet he has the same attitude.

The £2m quoted for Dykes was made up by the papers. The chairman of Livingston has already come out and said no one at the club put that valuation on him.
