The league title is a must👍.

03 Jun 2020 20:36:49
I have to agree with coldo.

03 Jun 2020 20:59:43
My question is if our manager was anyone else rather than Gerrard then would he still be in a job?

03 Jun 2020 21:05:30
the stuck, you sound like sugar puff teeth.

03 Jun 2020 21:31:52
What's sugar puff teeth? I don't understand that.

03 Jun 2020 21:49:01
The Stuck - no probably not. Winning nothing in 2 seasons as Rangers manager is unthinkable - win nothing again next season then he'll definitely go.

03 Jun 2020 21:56:32
Skating on thin ice as it is. needs to have fantastic season next year. He either stops them winni g leage and becomes a legend or he leaves as one of our worst ever manager.

03 Jun 2020 22:00:12
Probably not stuck to be honest. 👍.

03 Jun 2020 22:04:30
I can’t believe people voted No to this. If we don’t win anything this season then he will definitely have to go. There is no two ways about it.

Following on from rfc98's poll there regarding steven gerrard's position if rangers don't win anything next season, let me ask everyone on here this. let's have it, who would you have/ want to replace steven gerrard as the next rangers manager, IF the worst case scenario were to happen next season? For the record imo stevie G will win the league next season!

03 Jun 2020 22:31:12
We'd have to wait to see who is available coop but we can't just keep a manager who wins nothing just because of who he is. If the unfortunate happened and Gerrard left then I'd want someone who is established and tactically astute, not another gamble. 👍.

Any manger of the calibre that we should want should Gerard leave will not come without a cast iron guarantee of funding and so far Gerard has done admirably with a very poor squad and barely a first eleven. While I can understand the sentiments regarding the need for success, we cannot expect miracles. We need reinforcements, three or four players that can genuinely make a difference, winners, leaders, guys that will fight for the jersey. If Gerard is provided with that level of player then yes, the league is the minimum requirement, otherwise why replace someone that at least has the respect of his fellow professionals with another manager that is destined to fail!

Mark Warburton for me, future England boss. So I was told,

04 Jun 2020 02:35:16
Coldo, for me it's got nothing to do with 'who he is'. When Gerrard came up here he inherited a wasteland in every sense, the playing staff, the coaching staff, the recruitment staff, the development staff, the burden of Fat Ashley, court cases, a stadium that was in a dilapidated condition and a board fighting and scrambling to attract income to improve us. That was just two seasons ago.
When Ferguson went to Man Utd he went to a club rich in resources and in money and it took him into his fourth year to get them back on track. Patience from the fans and the board paid off big time for them, and it will for us and Gerrard too.
We simply cannot demolish once again the building bricks being laid by our current management team to start again on a wing and a prayer with absolutely no guarantee of success. I want trophies and titles as much as the next fan, but I'd rather see first a stabilised, prosperous club that will serve the Rangers family well for another 150 years. So as far as I'm concerned, sacking Gerrard if we don't win the league next year will achieve nothing and would probably be yet another massive setback.
I supported my team when we won the league title just four times in more than 20 years. In my teenage years I never saw us winning the league at all. Right now we are visibly getting stronger in all departments and I am excited that our time is coming, maybe not as quickly as the glory hunters would like, but I will rejoice all the more when it does return. We ARE the people.

Well said Covenanter.

04 Jun 2020 07:32:49
I know many will disagree. Our club is building something special as we return.
But SG is a big part of the brand and know matter what happens I would want him to stay.
He brings kudos to our great club. I’m hearing via a friend he will see our contract. He will be here 150 celebrations.

04 Jun 2020 07:33:42
I agree C.V. took a lot of pressure off of our manager as he was wobbling and fans were turning, however our club is moving forward in all areas at a much faster rate than it was now we have him, we are back on the map, better calibre if companies and people want involved with us and a lot of it is down to him and who he is.

Right now SG is good for for our club as we try to get the whole club in every way back to where it was before. And the visions for the future look fantastic and a lot of it will be in place for 150 year anniversary. We are moving forward as a club. A trophy is probably needed, we can’t get to obsessed by the 10 thing it could hinder our progress long term, we can win it though definitely on par with them head to head.

Don't believe everything you're told Tommy 1246, its not a good idea. 😁.

04 Jun 2020 08:23:45
Superb post the covenanter, very well written mate and i'm in total agreement with you. I've been with rangers all the way through this very hard journey back and as long as we are moving forward to what will be our turn of dominance again,
i'm prepared to be patient for a wee while longer. For 40 odd years now i've followed my club through thick and thin and we will become the dominant team in scotland again, very soon imo, of that i've got little doubt!

04 Jun 2020 08:25:05
Brilliant post🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧.

04 Jun 2020 08:26:43
Think its a no brainer if we don't stop 10 its the end for steven.

04 Jun 2020 08:28:46
I get that cov but we can't keep a manager just because it will set us back. If we are going nowhere in terms of winning the league then we will have to change it. It would do us more harm to keep a manager that isn't cutting it than it would to change it. This season Gerrard has to win the league or its time to move on. If Gerrard was someone else then there would a queue of fans calling for his head. 👍.
