Any1 else think we should be going and taking Souttar from Hearts now they are going down? Decent player, can play several positions across the back and still young. Surely won't demand much of a few with situation they will now be in. Thoughts?

Agree1 Disagree1

He’s been mentioned for years now. Not a fan of him at all. Signing a raft of SPL players is not going to take us to the next level.

21 May 2020 11:32:36
Souttar would improve our defence, he's a good CH.

21 May 2020 11:35:23
Could be a decent player but I'd put mccrorie and fridge ahead of him, covering same roles. Agree new signings need to be a step above what we have.

6 released and I'd chuck Barker, Jones, stewart, polster. Bring in 3 or 4 quality players.

No idea where mccrorie, docherty or Hastie fit in. Like them but need to step up.

Would like to see the boy Kelly in first team squad next season. I know a few of the guys on here watched him with Ayr and seemed impressed with him. Do any of the guys who watched him think he’s ready as a squad player?

Yip jaws, stephen kelly is a crackin' young player! He's very highly thought of at ibrox by all the coaches and steven gerrard himself mate!

21 May 2020 13:59:27
The only hearts player i want rangers to sign is their left back aaron hickey. He's going to be a superb full back.

21 May 2020 14:24:18
The likes of Hickey and Souttar will never improve us, I have seen Hickey play and I see nothing to suggest he will be 'superb'. Souttar would be about fourth or fifth choice centre half for us. That's why their club will be playing a league below us next season! Stephen Kelly has a chance, no more than that, and I'd love to know where people find out information like 'SG and all the coaches think highly of him'. I've never seen or heard that anywhere before. It is highly, highly unlikely that the Rangers manager or our coaches would discuss a kid's potential so loosely for all sorts of obvious reasons.

21 May 2020 14:35:34
Kelly definitely ready to be a squad player at ibrox, he will replace Davis year after next in team.
Hickey won’t be going to gers douglas will.

21 May 2020 16:12:33
Gerrard has commented numerous times on different young players and I'm sure he has talked about Kelly. He is definitely highly thought of and it has been mentioned by many.

21 May 2020 16:15:41
Do you have it on good authority that hickey won't be going to rangers John25?The reason i'm asking you, is because ross wilson rates young hickey highly. I honestly think it depends if barisic is sold or not mate. If barisic gets sold if think there's a very good chance rangers will try and sign both douglas and hickey. Out of interest mate, who would be your choice of keeper to replace allan mcgregor, as our future no.1?

21 May 2020 17:15:26
No it is my opinion. We don’t need both Douglas and hickey. Even if barisic goes. Remember our money still needs used wisely especially in these difficult times.
I’d like it to be mccrorie failing that Kelly would be good signing.

21 May 2020 17:25:12
Hickey will probably end up in England coop. Mccrorie should get a chance to be 1st team goalie. Just like McGregor did.

21 May 2020 18:25:08
SGL I thought we had an interest in the st Mirren keeper, Hladky? Or at big push moneywise Aberdeen's Joe lewis.

21 May 2020 19:14:49
I tend to agree with Mrgrumpy regarding the possible successor to allan mcgregor. With robbie mccrorie having already been out on loan at queen of the south and now at livingston, he's gaining big experience just like mcgregor did when he was young and on loan at both dunfermline and st. johnstone.
Having said that i personally always thought our former young goalie liam kelly, who's now at QPR, would have been the rangers no.1 eventually. I think he's a very good keeper.

21 May 2020 20:06:56
McCrorie must play in midfield if anywhere imo. He's quick, and loves a tackle. Stood out in most of games as well and that can't be said of every player.

Kelly stuck out like a sore thumb st ayr utd, watched him at least 7 or 8 times last season as Somerset is right on my door step.
