Only thing I’d question is your use of Colombian shanty town mentality if any of usual suspects wrote that we’d rightly be up in arms apart from that I agree with sentiments in your post.

well so you know, that's where the best footballers start off. nothing else to do apart from a kick about with your mates in the streets. that's what's wrong with this place, when is last time you saw kids kicking a ball for fun.

Geezadodaythat, too true mate, i see teams playing in the pitches, some sunday mornings, but I've not seen it like it was when i was younger either mate, all day during the summer holidays, only going upstairs when shouted for your dinner, then right back down onto the wee green park straight after dinner, ahh those were the days, lol.
