How can anyone now argue against Shankland. The floor is open.

Should we sign Allan as well 🤔.

I agree jyf. I would sign lawrence shankland for rangers now before its too late. I don't wear this crap he's not good enough for rangers and couldn't do it at premiership level.
The answer is we don't know. He could be similar to what nicky clark did at rangers but he could also be like ally mccoist and become the best scottish goalscorer to play for us,
since the super one! Its a low risk signing for me anyway and a total no brainer! Because players start by doing well at lower levels doesn't mean they can't step up. Ally mccoist started at a lower level and just look at how jamie vardy's career panned out, starting in non league football. The truth is we don't know for defo, as every signing/ transfer is a risk. I would want rangers to sign shankland now and it gives him a 6 month bedding in period and training beside our 2 wonderful strikers in alfredo morelos and jermain defoe, where he will learn even more and get better by working beside those guys. Remember its almost certain that morelos will be sold in the summer and getting shankland now IMO would be a very wise move and means we would have him and defoe for next season to start with.

I've yet to see a decent argument for not signing him. No brainer!

Why would we sign allen mrgrumpy? Shankland is one of Scotlands top goalscorers but he only scores against small teams apparently, well he's scored against a top flight team away from home. He is going on to better things and we are missing out.

Can anyone put up an argument, about how we should completely ignore lawrence shankland's goalscoring record. I don't believe for a minute we're not watching him closely and if we weren't, we most definitely as a club wouldn't be doing our job.

28 Jan 2020 21:49:53
Yes, we can’t afford to gamble two million plus on a player who might be ok, why did SG and our scouts not sign him for free in the summer.
It’s about opinions,

Unreal. I got slughtered on here when I suggested we sign him when he was at Ayr. We should have bought him. Any player that can score the amount of goals that the lad scores can score at any level.

28 Jan 2020 22:16:25
If we don’t sign him the Tims will and it’ll end up being Novo in reverse.

28 Jan 2020 22:35:07
The only person who has not scouted this guy is Tonto. Why has no other top club shown any interest whatsoever? We've scouted him several times and not one led to a recommendation to sign. And people here see him as a replacement for Morelos! It beggars belief. I'll go with the professionals on this one. If they want him they'll sign him but I won't hold my breath. They will not pay £2m for a 'mibbe'.

29 Jan 2020 06:42:05
No other club has shown an interest? Loads of posters wanted to sign him from Ayr and were shouted down.2 mil for a mibbe, well how many experts on here had heard of hellander before he came, was he a mibbe?
Experts? Our signing policy is mibbe at best you go through the list.

I agree with the convenater👍.

I'd have signed Shankland in a minute, however I think our chance to sign him has gone as I'm reading that Southampton are now in for him - if true (and a big if), then we can't compete with an EPL team in relation to personal terms. Granted he won't get a start but the opportunity to be involved in the EPL would be too good to turn down for him I think. Plus, Dundee United will never sell to us.

Where are we getting the reported £2m that United want for him? Have plenty teams watched shankland? Apparently so, nobody has yet to bid for the lad though have they? Why?
