Setting myself up I know but does is it just me or is McGregor slowing down and losing a bit of sharpness?

2 deflected goals recently and he hasn't reacted at all.

The Hearts goal didn't have a load of power and only a slight deflection yet he stood still.

Agree2 Disagree0

Nah. I'm no buying it. The guy is still class.

28 Jan 2020 09:48:12
It's hard to criticise McGregor but I agree he should have got to both. There's plenty of things he shouldn't have got to but did this season though. His distribution from his feet has always been poor but for me he is still the best keeper in the league. By a fair distance.

28 Jan 2020 09:52:03
Got both? As in saved both of hearts goals? Gimmie peace man.

28 Jan 2020 10:24:25
I agree unfortunately - he has saved us plenty this year already, especially in Europe, but he does seem to be at a turning point. Been a great servant always, but time and sore knees/ hips catch up with everyone.

Now yer slating mcgregor. Honest to god get a grip. 2 deflected goals says it all. The guy has made some of the quickest reaction stops in Europe but you think he's slow. 👏.

28 Jan 2020 11:11:14
Who's slating him?

28 Jan 2020 11:20:55
Slagging McGregor is MENTAL. I’m not even entertaining that one. NEXT.

28 Jan 2020 12:27:07
Saying the guy Is slow and should have saved 2 deflected goals. We all had a laugh about the melt down from the east end after the 29th. We have an absolute shocker against hearts and its all doom and gloom.

28 Jan 2020 12:42:58
Nothing doom and gloom about my post but if we are to move forward we have to look at every position.

Just because the keeper is one of us shouldn't place him above criticism - like David and Defoe, he ain't getting any younger!

28 Jan 2020 12:58:36
some clueless people on here! as a goalkeeper if you have all your weight on one side expecting the ball to go that way then it is almost impossible to change your direction quick enough to react, especially when the deflection is that close to you.

but sure let's start Firth for the next few games and see how we get on.

28 Jan 2020 14:08:42
Binobear, bang on mate, i posted much the same mate, but my post never appeared, i think i need a new ipad, lol, but yea mcgregor is a keeper not a magician, .

28 Jan 2020 14:09:45
Ah, the old clueless taunt!

Why Firth, why not Fod?

Have seen McGregor and many other top keepers change direction pretty sharpish and make some unsavable saves over the piece.

On both recent deflected goals, he stood up, motionless - no attempt to change direction

But if McGeregor is above criticism or even question, I'll bow to your wisdom Bino.

29 Jan 2020 09:07:24
Never said he is above criticism, unless it is unwarranted.

Fact is if we didn't have Mcgregor in goals then we wouldn't even be talking about a title race. I have also seen him react to deflections but not from that close.

If he had attempted to dive he still wasn't saving it, the ball would be in the net before he got on the ground, so what would your complaint have been then?

As for the celtic goal, watch it again and if you still think he could've got to it then yes you are clueless.
