Hi

The way Rangers have been playing this season, many football scouts have visited Ibrox to check out the whole team, and no wonder with Gerrard at the helm.

Gerrard has been amazing since joining Rangers and his management skills have been noticed worldwide.

It will be hard to keep most of our players together, as they are in big demand but Gerrard will soon be in bigger demand the way he is going.

I have to agree, especially if we happen to win the league.
The eyes of the world are watching our manager and sadly success will not go unnoticed. Good thing is he has a history of being loyal to something he loves, so maybe he now feels he is also one of us.
Well done the board for appointing him, right out the Blue, like Souness!

I'd say amazing is a bit strong. He will be amazing when we win trophies. he's been a great addition so far but and will be judged on silverware.

Gerrard hasn't won a trophy yet mate!

Grahammeggman, its a good job we've got s. g. On a long term contract, but the way s. g seems to. Be falling in love with our club, i think only the lure of liverpool will move him from ibrox.

Gerrard won’t leave until Liverpool come calling. If he went elsewhere and struggled it could cost him the Liverpool job, whereas he knows here his is in with a shot of trophies and European football every season.

New 2 this page Jason brown I think the same it would be good if we get 5 years of Stevie g services just think were we could be then. Bring back the good all days. 4 now hope the team really dig hard the next 5 months good luck gers for 2020

When gerrard does eventually move on and it will happen, ross wilson our technical director of football rates current dundee utd manager robbie neilson, very highly. that's coming from someone who knows brian rice the hamilton accies manager very well. Rice and wilson are seemingly very close from their time at falkirk. I did know that stewart robertson and some of our board members considered nielson before and rate him as a very good, young manager/ head coach. I wonder fellow bears?

Neilson would be a massive disappointment after SG coop.

08 Jan 2020 10:20:18
I think Neilson is a good manager and has done well at most clubs. It would be like going from Brendan Rodgers to Neil Lennon though lol.

Lets be honest here mrgrumpy. Once gerrard does eventually move on, our next manager/ head coach, in all probability, will be a step down in stature anyway!

SGL I’d stop investing in corporate packages etc. I’m told Defoe is in the plan going forward.
Bringing in Neilson is like selling Morelos and bringing in shankland.

08 Jan 2020 12:13:21
I wouldn't touch nielson with a bargepole. The guy has no class what so ever and isint any where near the standard we need.

08 Jan 2020 13:42:27
John25, yip matey, that's also the rumour i heard a while back, about defoe being our next manager. we've got to remember also that g. d is well thought of in the football world, like stevie g.

08 Jan 2020 13:47:02
SGL I know Brian Rice pretty well. As I stayed in Whitburn for a good few years before Emigrating to Australia, I really hope he does well at Hamilton. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️👍😎.

I think we’ve learned that someone like Stevie G who comes from an incredibly professional background and has a certain level of expectation of both himself and others, that filters down to the team. It’s the same with Lampard at Chelsea. So I think rather than go for some older manager who has had his knocks we should follow the same model. I wouldn’t be unhappy with Defoe. Also, I know he’s a Tim apparently but Darren Fletcher speaks very intelligently as a pundit and grew up with those high standards at Man U.

Theswagman, the main reason i think it will be defoe is he is already hear, he is obviously watching and learning, & playing, so by the time s. g. Moves on g. d. will have been at ibrox for years, i think maybe at the end of next season defoe will be more involved, maybe with the youngsters, but right now i recon he is serving his apprenttiship.

SGL I've known Robbie since he was a child and I also coached him. He's an absolute gentleman and so is his dad Ian, but he will not manage Rangers, the club who snubbed him when he was just 16 after spending 6 years in the system. It took a Rangers scout to get him to Hearts where he went on to become a good pro. He is from Mount Vernon and was brought up a Rangers fan, but what we did to him soured him for good. I also believe he has never met Ross Wilson and has no knowledge of ever having been 'considered' for the Rangers job.
