Just saw pictures of the kit chelsea wore today in their fa cup tie against notts forest.
It was an old retro home top they were wearing, which they played in half a century ago, when they won the fa cup in 1970.It got me thinking about what rangers could/ should do, when we become 150 years old in 2022.I think it would be a cracking idea for us for that season, to wear an old styled retro home kit for that season, to mark our magnificent 150th birthday. What do all other fellow bears think about that and what other ideas do you think would be fitting to mark us reaching this milestone in our illustrious history?

Great question coop, the 92 adidas kit with the white bits on the shoulder, the away kit was the same but white and red bits on the shoulder. I also like the kit that we played in the 3rd div. Will need to have a right good think. What is your's? 👍.

The most retro top for me is the 1986 plain blue cr Smith top made by umbro reminds me of the late great Davie Cooper and also the first top I remember having as a wee boy.

Coldo that was my 1st ever kit. think my favourite kit is the 9IAR season.

Sorry but that Chelsea strip was rank mate, like really really bad. If we do it hope we pick a nicer one than that.

Anything pre 2012 design would be good, it will send the unwashed into sevco overdrive 👌🤣.

I’d like a variation of the 9 in a row kit. Similar to the one France wore at the World Cup 98.

Brilliant idea Coop! But first we better get a kit supplier 🇬🇧🇬🇧.

Something like the retro style one we wore in Div 3 I'd go for or for 1 season only move away from the royal blue to white tops with a light blue star like the Gallant Pioneers were wearing mabey with the RFC Crest inside the star or vice versa a light blue top with a white star.

I would agree with you coldo, as the home retro top based on our 1972 kit, when we were in the 3rd division was very traditional and smart. It had the massive scrolled RFC on the usual left side. I think it was our last top made by umbro!
Something along the lines of that would be lovely i think. Plain traditional and just rangers that's what i'd prefer. 👍.

the kit worn by rangers during the time of bill struth britains most succesful manager would be a good touch, might have to jazz it up slightly though. sponsors ect.

The old blue and white hoops?

Coldo, The Umbro 86-87 season, As my son sent me this top for Christmas, And had it on watching last weeks game, Or the Adidas 96-97 think that strip was a beauty, 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇦🇺⚽️👍😎.

I remember getting the old v neck jersey with the white collar, white shorts and black and red socks with white feet. I was about 7 at the time (1964!) and thougjt I was the bee"s knees.

What about rangers 1st ever rangers kit for the season.

06 jan 2020 12:42:59
it would have to be made by the kit supplier at that time and probably carry adverts so would look nothing like the original.

I liked the plain Royal Blue with the 'V' Neck of the Jim Baxter era, white shorts and Red and Black socks.
