I see we have arrange a friendly with loko Tashkent from Uzbekistani in Dubai. I think we missed a trick here as I think we should have maybe arranged a friendly with a Portuguese outfit in preparation for our eufa cup tie.

Oh dear are we travelling 2 Uzbekistani for the friendly, no. They are travelling 2 Dubai to play us. I just think we should have asked a team from Portugal to travel to Dubai for the friendly. As the next round in Europe is Portuguese opponents. Thus helping us prepare and adapt to the Portuguese styles of play.

Stewarty, what possible benefit does this give? One game won't even allow us to acclimatise to possible style or even balmy climate.

In Portugal they have a certain style of play in the main as does most countries. What benefit apart from keeping our players sharp is there in playing a team from Uzbekistani as we are unlikely to face a team from that area in the near future. So playing a team that have a similar style of play to Braga would imo only be of benefit in preparation for this game.

John I'm sure if we contacted say benfica or one of the other top Portuguese teams and asked them to send their second team, fringe players over for a friendly while also forging some links with them, they would be up for it. Win win.
