Looking at tomorrows game. I think the back 4 picks itself now.

In the middle if Davis is not back I'd go with Kamara, Arfield and Jack.
Up Front Morelos starts. We have to give Greg a start. I'd drop Kent. he's an empty shirt the now. he's like Ojo, got bags of talent but doesn't produce often enough and also does stupid tricks on the halfway line. Both are frustrating as hell to watch at times. I would also look at giving Barker a run. We needs fresh legs. Thoughts bears?

Yes we have improved - no argument there but we haven't won any of our last 3 BIG games, which could have had us top of the league, with a cup and top of Europa group, which would have given us a better draw in next round!
The next round of league games come thick and fast, most away from home and none of them easy. We need to step up to next level and start to score goals from all areas of the team to do so.
Onward and upward.

I agree Bar72, if we want to win trophies we need to move up a level. I think we are 3 players short. We need a goal threat from our attacking right side, and I would like to see an no.10 brought in and a target man that will attack the ball in the box. This would give us options to change the formation and hopefully someone that would make use of the number of crosses we put into the box.
I think for the most part we do put in good crosses, unfortunately most if the time no one is there at the end of it to challenge for the ball which makes it look like a poor cross.
AS1974 no way Barker should be in the squad, especially when Jones gets back. Kent on his off day still better than Barker, even Ojo is a better option in my opinion and he isn't exactly doing that well. I will say he may need a run of games but from what I have seen of him, no.

I'd get rid of Kent OJO n Aribo 3 of the together aren't worth 7mill cut our loses on them I'd pick Jones n Stuart before them any day.

I agree with your comments JC about signings but why not Barker? He was decent for Hibs with bags of pace but we can't bring him in for 1 game and back out that team. It will never work. I think we need to rotate the squad, especially when we are playing midweek games in Europe. Also agree about JJ but look at him before he got injured. SG doesn't fancy him. OJO must have a clause in his loan deal to give him so many mins. We done the same with Worral and that was a disaster, hence why I'm not a fan of loan deals.

AS1974 - I remember the 5 each game Barker came on as a sub if I'm correct and ripped Tav to pieces, with the way Tav plays in our formation that's not hard. I think a lot of us remember Barker for that. For me from what I have seen for us when he has got game time I can't remember him either getting down the line and getting a cross in or cutting inside beating 1 or 2 men, at times when we need to mix it up we need players to be expressive and he hasn't done it for me. As I said he may need game time but we really can afford that especially with our right hand side not producing.
I wouldn't say SG doesn't fancy JJ but he was totally peed off with him for his red card and injury.
Agree with regards to Ojo's game time, there must be something in his contract which I think Liverpool insert as part of the deal, sure one of the ed's can confirm that. I have came round to the loan deals but only if it works in favour of the club, we get to see if a potential signing can make it or not before wasting money.

If you look at JJ for example. He was brilliant pre and at the start of the season. Them SG dropped him. Very strange. Yes, regarding BB I can remember the 5-5 game. So why did we buy him? Another wasted wage? We don't utilise the full squad. Docherty, king etc etc. Surely they can please against less opposition?

Yip agree JJ was good, Katic is the same. SG may well have his favourites for whatever reason and it could cost us.
I think Barker was a Mark Allen recomendation, I remember him talking Barker up saying how good he was and player of the tournament for England under 18's or something like that, plus he was free so looking at it he ticked all the right boxes. SPL experience, came through a very good youth academy, youth international, and in my opinion he knows he won't be a first team starter so won't disrupt the squad. His attributes would have suggested he would have been able to fit in to SG's system but jury is still out on that.

Also meant to add AS1974 I'm not a big fan of the squad rotation, I much prefer consistency and use your subs to make an impact or defend a lead. SG only has one system he plays, much like Warburton in that sense and I woukd like to see him change it up when required or to catch a team out.

Well we need to start with squad rotation as the games are going to be coming thick and fast. We need to freshen things up for sure. SG has his favorores for sure but we need to make changes tomorrow. The team needs different personnel. What would your team be then?

He has favoured players but that's because of quality nothing else. by this and this alone will dictate who starts most of the games apart from when needing rested or barring injuries.

I know, i can't understand anyone saying to cut our losses with ryan kent! They folk will be the first on here saying how brilliant kent is,
when he gets back to his best. Kent is a terrific player and will prove this without doubt IMO!

DSGERSFAN saying Kent, Aribo and Ojo aren't worth 7mill combined? That's a complete wind up right? Kent is worth the 7mill paid but has had a couple of quiet games following an injury.
Aribo is a quality player. A bit rough round the edges but is a class player who needs a bit of coaching to realise his potential. He will be worth a lot of money when we decide to sell him. Ojo isn't even our player so shouldn't be in the discussion.
