No the manager DIDN'T say defoe would be fit for the weekend mate. He said they were hopeful he would be and would monitor him until sunday.

I see the young boys had another good away result in Europe last night, Young=Coombes in particular is doing the business, wouldn't hurt to give him some first team experience soon as a sub and give him 20 minutes or so to see how he copes at a higher level.

Irvger I have seen plenty of this lad, believe me he is no where near ready physically in my opinion.
He is only 16. Let him develop for another eighteen months,
