It was good to see Tav getting another assist today that just reinforces the point I’ve made a few times about him winning us more points than he loses us. I still stand by my other point regarding team balance and personally I wouldn’t play him away In the harder games whereby we’re unlikely to control the game (Parkhead, Away Europe games etc. ) but I was glad to see him with the winning assist.

So just play him in easy games? Naw.

He hit a corner. Settle down.

I remember years ago a similar scenario with a certain mr lorenzo amoruso. makin some amateur mistakes and the crowd on his back constantly. then came the Parma game in europe when his confidence looked shattered till the whole stadium got behind him screaming “ only one amoruso” to which nearly brought the big man to tears. ended up a legend with us. every player can’t be excellent every time. get behind tav n show him we got his back thru thick n thin. to me this is what being a supporter means. he's going thru a sticky patch but hasn’t became a bad player overnight.

Defending the guy is a liability. Has been sine day of signing. Not like he played a great pass? He swung in a corner to which and half decent pro should be able to putnin that area. Unfortunately for tav he puts in 1 good cross every 20.

Sir katic you cannot have a captain that you drop for the more difficult and play when it’s not so difficult, that’s absurd pal. And as the wags man says, calm down he hit a corner!

Paul86.

If ‘swinging a corner in’ is so easy, why do teams only really ever has one or two players at the most who will take them?

😂😂😂 it’s obvious Tav can never win. Fair enough, people are entitled to their opinions, but to try and say ‘it’s just a corner’, seriously defies any logic. It was a great delivery and it was half the reason we secured an important 3 points, along with Helander putting his head on the end of it.

Yes he is had a total nightmare of a start this season, he missed the penalty yesterday but it was his play that won the penalty. Taking him off penalties I would probs agree with.

Gerrard was not too bad a captain himself and he must see traits in Tav that justify his selection as club captain.

How’s about getting behind him during this bad spell rather than turning your backs on him? Tim like behaviour.

Here here bear mode. Confidence is shattered but he will come through it. We are the worlds worst for slating our own players.

I love Tav, great player. Made a couple of mistakes that have cost goals, that can happen.
He should take himself off penalties and take unnecessary pressure off himself.
He run his guts out yesterday trying to lead by example.
Get behind the players, support is what gets you through.
Steven Gerrard knows what he is doing so if he picks Tav every week its because he is the best man for the job. If he needs rested he will know. Let's get right behind our Skipper.

Bgate W. I wouldn’t play Tav in the tougher games where he is expected to defend, simply it’s not his game and with Tav in the team we’re exposed. Teams are no starting to explode this. As for dropping our captain then it’s a different question as to should he be our captain.

Regardless I was glad to see him hit the winning assist, corner or no corner he got the assist, fair play to him.

Don’t play the captain in games too hard for him, I’ve heard it all now mate.
