Not that I give a flying f*** about the national team but I think we need to get somebody in who everybody respects and who is not afraid to blend youth with experience. Maybe I'm biased but young OF players or ex OF players need to be able to stake a claim alongside more experienced players such as Robertson, Tierney, McGregor, Jack, McGinn etc. Young guys like Johnstone, Gilmour, McCrorie, Docherty etc couldn't do any worse, could they. If we don"t hammer San Marino convincingly at the weekend we really are up that creek without the proverbial paddle. Worst Scotland side I"ve ever seen and I"ve seen a lot over the years.

Probably agree with jonhston and gilmour. But docherty? Really? What is he like 7th choice at rangers? Scotlands midfield is probably wgere they are strongest.

Whoa guys, touched a raw nerve there. Firstly I consider myself Scottish hence the 'we'. Secondly, I don't really give 2 f**** about the team or its manager or the rest of that shower. And I just need to look at the kilts and those ridiculous feathers and immediately want to boak. The reason I am posting here is because I am finding it hard to stomach the fact that an honourable man in Alex McLeish was hounded and vilified from all quarters for a fraction of what Clarke has produced. This is the most useless and ill prepared shower of dodo I have ever seen. Clarke getting an easy ride as far as I can see. Big Eck would have been hanged and his body put in a shallow grave by now.

The Scottish national team has some great players that aren’t being utilised properly. Robertson, tierney (probably get stick for the Celtic ones), McGinn, McGregor, Jack, cairney, fraser, Christie etc with youngsters like gilmour as well coming through. There is talent. Just not the right man yet to lead them.
