Just want to say one thing about last night, even though I could say a lot.
Gerrard stated 'we are bombarded with long balls' Now if there is one player in that squad who eats up long balls its katic. I get he payed a lot of helander but, you play first to your own strengths, then to the opposition, to the conditions, the pitch.
That whole game from start to finish was built for a no nonsense defender. A defender that just wins the ball, nothing fancy nothing clever just gets it up the park.
You can blame goldson aswell but he looked like he was getting into bother everytime he was caught out by tav going forward, where as helander even with BB next to him was a bombscare.

Ye they got away with it today on that plastic pitch be better Katic besides Goldson . Hellander not suited to it not the fastest either.

Aye I thought in the other games Helander did look a bit short of pace. Never mind, it didn't do Davie Weir any harm?
I think people forget that we won the game against a tough team on a poor surface. Aye it wasn't pretty but c'mon, we would have been losing these games over the past few seasons! Everybody is raving about the other lot and their brilliant win. Let"s not forget they were playing the championship's worse team at home, a team in transition.
Let's just keep the heid. We came through it with some lumps, bumps and bruises and I, for one, am looking forward to humping Hearts in the semi final.

If that back 4 didn't have macgregor behind them to cover the mistakes then it wouldn't be. Am not saying helander is a bad player, its like BB he needs games. But last night he was having a stinker, and we had a man on the bench who is built for these type of games.

Im sure when we have played different back 4's McGregor has still be there though so not really sure what point your making there.
I like the look of helander looks a solid commanding defender however doesn't look like he wants to be dragged wide or into a race.

fintytint how many times did McGregor save them last night? In total he's had three or four good saves to make in 270 minutes, all in a day's work for him and what he's paid to do.
