This really is a watershed moment for the club. The statement released pulls no punches and I think we'll all find on forums and whatnot that the majority of fans have had enough.

Behaviour of some of our fans must change. It MUST and it will. And let's be clear here, those who indulge in the draconian chants are morons, degenerates and living in the past. Can't argue with that. An embarrassment. Can't stand our club being associated with any of it in any way, goes for the OO, UDA, UVF ect. It's a nonsense.

The club and board must be applauded because now, after taking action they can in no way have the finger pointed and be told to do more to stop it. It's about as extreme action as any club can take.

Agree9 Disagree0

I agree whole heartily . I’m
Actually really pleased this has happened -‘I think it’s blessing in disguise .
The club must be applauded for the way they are dealing with this . There statements have been clear and with the campaign they launched its good timing .
It must stop . I’m still reading morons going about there religion and how that identifies them to the club - utter nonesense and total ignorance.
PLEASE end this now - With the club returning to the top we must now act as a progressive club in 21st century there is no place for it .
If We want to continue to attract players and managers and sponsors then there are so many great songs that can be witty and fun to sing. come on Bears let’s show them .
How’s cool would it be to tackle this head on and actually make the other half of the city look bad - we need to move on and finally Eradicate this for ever .
Rangers Then Rangers Now Rangers Forever .

Those who claim their songs are about our religion haven’t been over the steps of a Church for years if ever!
If you’re really a Protestant . then you’re a Christian and should have nothing to do with these songs.
Support the club . if you want to sing the songs . do it away from Ibrox and any ground Rangers are playing.
Time for the silent majority to stand up for Rangers and shout down the bigots!

28 Aug 2019 22:39:26
the club can see cctv footage, identify from the seat numbers who it is who continue with this infantile rubbish. Then simply ban everyone of them for life!

I have been brought up signing these songs but times have changed we now have a team now full of Catholic players and management team.
The historic songs are part of our identify let’s just replace some of the lyrics to get us up to the 21st century and avoid being censured by league or UEFA.
No need for loyalist add on verses or chants, do that (if you need to and have the right of speech to) in your own homes or bars and clubs but let’s be smarter around Ibrox with song choices.

Yately and Sharpshooter will be along in a minute to say they’re still singing Build My Gallows.

29 Aug 2019 02:03:01
Stu64 has hit the nail on the head. No “fan” singing sectarian songs is a proddy because if they are they’re contradicting themselves by doing it.

29 Aug 2019 07:43:03
Wagman, when did I ever say the singing was ok? You are unbelievable and the reason this forum is no longer the same!

29 Aug 2019 08:36:38
We have the biggest Police bill in Scotland; could they not contribute a solution to this problem?

29 Aug 2019 15:50:30
At what point to UEFA / FARE take into account the club are really trying to do something with this
Surely a video of 2/3 singing banned songs couldn't lead to stadium closure? It's naive and unrealistic to think this will eradicated overnight? The other question I have is if we don't take tickets for next away game in Europe but some so called fans still gain access and still sing the songs surely the club cannot be held responsible for that scenario?

30 Aug 2019 14:43:59
i don't think its a case of changing the lyrics. in the case against linfield the euefa said the song still carries the message so only way to rid this is to stop! no place at football. we have glorious days to celebrate our religion and history.

30 Aug 2019 14:45:52
I agree with yately. in 50 years I personally have never sang these songs at games but the level of ignorance here is far more staggering.
