Should we class this coming week as a defining moment in the season?
Is it too soon? Or is it all really about bragging rights and income?
Income?
If we beat Legia, we get the chance to earn some decent money from the
group games of the Europa League and the chance for our club, team and manager
to be in the spotlight as they pit their wits against some quality sides enhancing their
reputations along the way.
And let's be honest - as a fan who doesn't love a Glasgow Rangers European night?
Bragging rights?
A chance to beat our biggest rivals again at home for the 3rd time in a row and considering we have blown them
away last season, who's to say we can't keep the run going? But they've spent a fortune on their defence and have a tactical genius in the dugout!
For me, any win will do in both games. Going into the international break with a 3 point advantage and still in Europe would
be a moral booster and means they are playing catch up, waiting for us to slip up before the next clash between us.
I have total faith in our team this season. We have that spine running through the team again. McGregor, Tav, Jack, Davis, Arfield, Morelos - you could even throw in Defoe, Katic and Goldson.
When did you last see a togetherness about a Rangers side that this side has?
It's time for all the off-field issues to be put to bed. The club has dealt with it.
Our job now as fans is to back the team 100%. In the correct manner. Without the nonsense.
Defining? No. Bragging rights? No! The most successful club in the world doesn't need to brag about one game. We'll do that at the end of the season. Banter? Definite yes!
In Gerrard We Trust!
Let's Go!

I think this is a, massive week as it will indicate the level of progress made in terms of how the team deals with pressure and expectations. I think only fear will stop us this week but I think we have enough in our team to raise the benchmark .

the legia game is the bigger game at this point in the season. fail to beat legia we are out of europe.

fail to beat celtic we still have a chance in the league.

obviously it would be great if we can win both.

Certainly massive week for us and despite them spending millions on their defence it's still rubbish.

Agree I lark. I did say to my boy b4 east fife game five clean sheets would be good, here’s hoping.

Is the Legia game only important in the fact that we need to get there from a financial point of view?
And at what point does Europe become an irrelevance regarding the SPFL league?
I know we have a far better squad than last year but is it strong enough to cope Thursday / Sunday?
For me it depends who we draw if we get there, where we stand after the first 3 games and how it’s affecting our league form.

We need the money and the prestige from Europe to keep attracting good players, players from abroad won’t come to play in the SPFL alone. European football has always been an attraction of playing for Rangers. I think if we make the groups we give it our best crack the first 3 games then assess.

28 Aug 2019 15:35:21
With the size of squad we have I think we need Europe in order to keep rotating players and keep the squad happy.

Lets go55 and Swagman
We won't make any money if we play to am empty house.
Need to get our Big Hoose in order pronto!

I think it will have a big bearing on confidence LETSGO as we move forward. The point you made about the income is spot on, our Club needs to bring in as much as possible to avoid further loans, we don't want to keep going down that route, self sufficiency is the way forward.

Do I think we are good enough to win both games, I hope so, it's all down to attitude and belief which was spot on in our Old Firm games last season. Time will tell, I've never predicted an Old Firm result, form invariably goes out the window.

As regards the singing, there's too much debate on the subject, we have no option but to just sing Rangers songs, UEFA have made that perfectly clear, other teams will also be held accountable by them all over Europe, so, let's just to the line and support the Board, Management and our players.
