Just read there dorrans left behind had his injury problems but honestly is halliday really any better and am sure he's went without his passion for the club is he still a player that will take us forward a don't think so people like holt lafferty are judged but halliday seems to get a free pass at times love the guys passion just my opinion not good enough.

I think it's mainly down to hallidays passion on and off the field plus his ability to play all over the pitch! And his willingness to be a bit part player.

The reason i think andy halliday is wanted by gerrard is he can do a job as a squad player, in quite a few areas of the team. I agree he's not a first pick 11 player. Graham dorrans is the shock here for me, as he's a good attacking midfielder, if he is over all his injury problems. But then again doza and scotty arfield,
are pretty similar midfielders and play in the offensive midfield positions. There's no way that dorrans will get in that position in front of arfield. Scotty Arfield has been a revelation so far at rangers.
He's been a superb player for us. I really rate him very highly and a natural first team pick!

Agreed barrowlad not the greatest player but to be honest under SG he's rarely let us down when asked. Also his passion for all things Rangers must be good to have for the new players coming into the squad.

Also quite important is the fact Andy rarely gets injured. He keeps himself in shape and works hard in training, knowing he's not necessarily going to be a 1st pick, speaks volumes for the man. A few of the current squad could take inspiration from that.

Hes just had his best season in his career. he's versatile 100% commited and works his socks off everttime he's on the pitch plus he's Rangers to the core. Andy is Stevies James Milner and he looks to be developing under Gerrard, he's a no brainer squad player in my opinion.

Halliday never put a foot wrong when called upon, solid squad player. If other players had half his attitude they probably wouldn't be on their way out this summer.

Andy halliday is Andy halliday nothing special but he's more consistent under Gerrard so give the guy his dues LB he's actually half decent.

I'd have Halliday in the squad all day long, if only for his passion, never-say-die attitude and influence. I wish there were more like him. I know he is nudging 30 so maybe SG could look at giving him some sort of coaching role? He'd be a brilliant influence on the youngsters.

To big an earner for his contribution I think, probably best he moves on but if that can’t be done all he has to do is look at Halliday fighting his way back into the squad last season for inspiration. I’m sure his deal is up next summer.

I’d say the issue is Dorrans wages! Quality wise Halliday wouldn’t lace Dorrans boots but he’s hardly been fit since he came to rangers and they're probably looking him off the wage bill.

Sm I agree dorrans by far a better player than Halliday can’t believe he is still with our club and some fans lap him up just because he is a fan himself.

Exactly can't keep someone for passion a mean most of us on here have passion for rangers don't mean a should get a game no doubt halliday done ok when asked best game by far the old firm but every player did there part that day a would love him to be a better quality but sadly he ain't its a tough one u can't just keep someone for passion and the more a see our signings the less chance a see halliday getting game time this season.
