IBROX STADIUM EXPANSION
What are the chances of Ibrox increasing size? I believe we are near 98% full. every second week Biggest in Scotland where we also have a ticket waiting list of around 12,000-15,000.
Would this not call for an expansion and can all fans not chuck in some funding towards it?
We can even buy Rangers coupons and others to help cover fundings
Personally I would love to see the big TVs increased in size and perhaps sitting on the roofs of both the Broomloan and Copland stands to fill the corners in line with the stands and have the Govan with sn extra tier perhaps like the Club Deck on the Bill Struth Stand
I'd like to see our Stadium increased.

Only way to increase size relatively easily is rid screens which tbh offer nothing in added capacity. Rid screens offer opportunity to give 360 degree seating/ stands giving capacity another 10k. Also another tier in centenary stand option.

You can’t put seats in the corner. Their is supporting steel work in behind the screens. I believe another tier on the Sandy Jardine Stand would be the only way to mirror the Bill Struth Main Stand.

We tried to get an extentions years ago and every time denied by the city council.

We can’t even get a fan zone on an empty pitch across the road because of anti rangers bias in Glasgow City Council, absolutely no way they’d let us expand the stadium.

I have said the same on here a few times now L17, you are right the support structure is the reason the screens are there, its very similar to tynecastle there is a steal frame like a goal post if you like that goes over and down the sides of the stands. An extra tier on the govan stand would probably be the best optionðŸ‘.

Kaz, I sit in BF5 and in my opinion our stadium is not 98% full every other week. I had 4 empty seats around me at the last old firm game.
I think we could expand the stadium size but, 1 thing that Rangers should do is make it easier for people to re-sell their seats. It costs a lot of money to phone that useless hotline number so I just try to give my ticket to friends when I can't make it to games.
I would contribute to a fund raising scheme if they wanted to do it although i'd prefer a safe standing section which would also increase the capacity.

Cannot take screens out and fill in corner with seats as said above. Back in the 90s we had a season ticket waiting list of atleast 13k also and we have done fine. Another 1 tier on the govan (sj stand) would be only thing we could do. and that would be more than enough.

There has been discussions about dropping the pitch and adding more seating that way. Not sure how feasible that is but that’s what I was told was being looked at as an option.

Yately not a con-structural engineer but my points about the screens/ seats and the structure have been confirmed by the club on numerous occasions.
