Now that the dust has settled let's all think about a precedent set by the powers running Scottish football. Celtic were allowed to dictate what Rangers fans were allowed to attend parkhead after the problems at the cup game ( funnily enough started off by Celtic fans coming onto the pitch )
The Celtic rationale was surely to try and reduce crowd issues.
So would it be fair to assume the the powers at be will let every top league club dictate to Celtic which fans they will allow to visit them.

As Celtic don't do a seat sub aystem every fan on the pitch had to be a season ticket holder ( or given a season ticket by the holder) so maybe every club in the league, in Scotland even, ahould say to Celtic only fans that sit in top tier of parkhead ahould get tickets. the top tier were only sections of the ground fans did not get onto pitch from.
Unfair on the majority of decent fans yes but its time Celtic don't get things there own way. IMO.

Newblue, I like to play devil's advocate so do they also only allow Rangers fans from the top tier as they were the ones who didn't storm the pitch during the recent OF match. It doesn't matter what the instigation was, it was still a pitch invasion, so are clubs to be afraid of similar at their grounds and their players being threatened.

I think it needs to be either no fans at matches or, as Celtic did, no ultras. I imagine their ban was because they saw the high possibility of reciprocal damage to their stadium. What their fans did was so wrong, but we don't want our reputation to be further damaged by letting our fans do the same.

Btw, I think the other teams are starting to see the issues they get from OF fans outweigh the money they get from them. Their own fans have complained for years about the behaviour and the sectarian singing, so they have started to cut the number of tickets they sell to both OF clubs to attract more of their own fans, especially kids and female fans; trying to make it a pleasant match day experience for them. Can't say I blame them as they will get that benefit for every home game.

So we get what we sow, I suppose.

It becomes tit for tat - personally, I wouldn't put any sanctions on who they give tickets to.

However, I would put a retainer in place (£250k) for any potential damage caused.

That might make Celtic be a bit more careful who they allow on their end.

But on our end, I wouldn't lower ourselves to their level.

We should always aim to be better than them on and off the park - shouldn't be hard.

Nope, wouldn't let them back in. Made a whole load of fuss about getting fans back in, and all they did was cause trouble. I'd rather we spent on a better team than repairs caused by morons.

Kaiser, Yup, I agree. I read we sent them a 1 million pound bill for the damage they did on their last visit to Ibrox. They refused to pay the bill, so yea keep them out of our place, and let them ban our supporters.

18 May 2026 19:03:38
I am with you, Kaiser, I'd rather we just ban away fans in OF games.

Celtic will always play politics over anything they can, and it's just not worth the argument.

A couple of thousand Rangers fans not getting tickets for their ground would be definitely worth having none of them inside Ibrox ever again, imo.

18 May 2026 19:03:54
There will be no away fans at games next season for the Old Firm games.

18 May 2026 22:57:50
Zikos, I 100% agree. We show them up by behaving, not being as bad as them.

18 May 2026 23:54:25
I would also ensure they pay the costs from the previous visit before offering more tickets - it's just common sense.

And put it out there, so both sets of fans and media know who's causing the issues.

Yes, guys. Keep them out of Ibrox.
