What are the chances of DR giving some young lads a wee run out tonight. Alex Smith, Kyle Glasgow, Ryddn McGuire, Scally, Mclure and McAllion (excuse the spelling please)
Would be good to see some of the young lads play in a competative match. We don't have anything riding on this game but, Hibs still do and it would be a good test for them. Or do we think its too soon?

He's not going to play a 16 year old goalkeeper, and McClure is on loan to Nottingham Forest, so he can't play. It sounds like a good idea in theory, but if you were the manager and were under pressure, would you risk a fourth defeat in a row by playing 16 year olds? I do hope he plays Kelly tonight and on Saturday to boost the guys' chances of going to the W.C.
He's sat patiently as back up, and now deserves a bit of a reward.

As I said last night, most played on Monday night. Most will play again on Friday night.
For them and Rangers, Friday is more important, qualifying for the CL Youth Cup, which would be a great experience and challenge for them.

I didn't realise McClure was on loan.
You make a valid point about Dr's position being in question, but I think that most fans would accept that this is a dead rubber for us and it would be a great chance to see what some of these young lads can do.
McGuire could start on the bench and play for the last quarter or something. I would really like to see the young lads get a chance, but I hear what you're saying, W4E.

Say we play the young lads, take a beating, then bitch and mone give them another reason why Danny Rohl should be sacked.

Play Kelly, Tav, and Souttar.
Kelly - has rarely featured.
Tav - last game at Ibrox in a Rangers jersey.
Souttar - same as Kelly.
Good to play the young lads, but not after 3 defeats.

It would be great to see them qualify for the CL youth cup, John.
Forgive my ignorance. How close are the youngsters to doing that?
13 May 2026 16:13:57
Win on Friday night, we will the youth league, get entry to Europe, unless there is another hidden rule change.
13 May 2026 16:15:01
Coopers Souttar needs to avoid any more injuries, so I can't see him wanting to play.
13 May 2026 16:55:43
And this lies the issue here. Every manager is under pressure to win every single game or his neck is in the block. Ideally we get 3 or 4 in front then bring on youth, but when are we ever in that situation.
We can be 2 up and still draw or lose.
Can you imagine fans' reaction if we were 2 up and then put on youth and lost, it would be the manager doesn't have a clue.

Is there still a fine for fielding an under strength team?
13 May 2026 18:53:47
John, unless injured he has no choice but 2 play if picked?
13 May 2026 19:03:55
Noodles, very easy to feign injury, however fair play to Souttar on the bench tonight.
13 May 2026 19:54:22
Cmac, most fans won't accept 4 defeats in a row, although they say they would before it happens.
