So impressed with PSG last night, they didn't beat Bayern with the ball, they beat them when Bayern had the ball. I read about their savage work ethic, no egos or Billy big times, we can only dream about players who work so hard in chasing the ball and cuting out the space.

I don't expect our Players to have the same skill set but raw fight and work ethic should be installed in every Rangers player that's the managers job and so far he has failed.

Under Luis Enrique, all the PSG players work their socks off, as well as being the most talented team in Europe just now. ? Just look at their star left winger, Kvaratskhelia. ? He's the most talented winger in the world at the minute, but just look at his workrate also, immense, and the perfect role model for upcoming players. ?

Amen to all that. Danny will never win a league title with us. He is a nearly man. Had his chance. Good luck in his next job.

BT this is part of the reason I want to keep Rohl. His principles of work ethic and high intensity will make us a better team.

Who would have thought PSG getting rid of Neymar, Mbappe and Messi, installing principles of work ethic and cohesion, would result in a Champions League and into the final the following season. Yes, they have an abundance of talent, but players like Fabian Ruiz, Pacho, Nuno Mendes and Vitinha were never seen as world beaters until they joined PSG.

I'm sure Vitinha was at Wolves, Pacho at a German club, Ruiz, I think, was at Villarreal or something.

They picked technical players who will run themselves into the ground and it is paying dividends. Mentality and work ethic destroying tikitaka possession-based football.

Mentality, workrate and talented Ayrshire. ?

Proof you don't have to have played here to have that desire and work ethic. Get the right players in regardless of origin.

100% SWS, it's the old cliched hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

We have players who are talented but don't work hard. Players like Olsen, Aasgaard, Gassama are players above the technical talent of our league but miles below the work ethic of those players. Just look at the Motherwell goal, where Slattery bombs forward, and our midfield just jog back and get nowhere near him. Slattery isn't a quick player, so it wasn't speed that got him that space. It was work ethic, and our players only apply work ethic in one half. Sterling, Raskin, Meghoma, Tav, Dio, Chuk have all been guilty of just jogging back at different times in games this season.

I can honestly pick 3 players I haven't seen that from, and it's been Barron, Rommens and Naderi. That's it. Could maybe include Fernandez and Djiga, but they are usually the last line, so don't have the chance to jog back.

Ayrshire, he was on loan at Wolves, played 19 or so games.

Work rate, heart and desire should be a minimum for any player that plays for us.

07 May 2026 16:08:36
100% guys, I would take 10 out players who bust a gut every game than a talented player who turns up once in a while and thinks that's all it takes to win.

07 May 2026 18:40:27
Broste, that is 100% correct. Doesn't matter what nationality they are, they just need to have work ethic. Seen a lot of posts saying we need Scottish/British core, it's nonsense. We need good players with heart, desire and fight.

07 May 2026 18:55:13
Storm, I agree to an extent, mate, but it's no coincidence that Bomber Brown, Ally McCoist, Kris Boyd, Ian Durrant have all said we need a core of players in our team who are Scottish, know what it means to play for Rangers and can handle playing in Scottish football. They guys also know what they're talking about, mate. ?

07 May 2026 19:59:37
Sir Walter, easy for the pundits to say, but who are these guys?

07 May 2026 20:14:50
Storm, those basics you mention have been sadly missing the last few years.

That has prevented there being a proper bond between players and fans.

It is something Rohl must remedy. It is a must at Rangers.

07 May 2026 20:58:25
Coops, and they have an opinion just like the rest of us, so what. I don't agree with them, nationality doesn't come into it for me.

Once a Rangers, it's been a long time since we had that, imho.

Exactly, wsl Coops, can you answer that question?

We have Souttar, Scottish, not good enough.
Cameron, Scottish, not good enough.
We also have a lot of English.
Butland, good shot stopper, terrible with ball at his feet, been part of the "leadership group" that's failed every year since he has been here.

Tav, past it.
Assgaard plays for Norway, but from Liverpool, not good enough, imo.
Barron runs about and has heart, desire and fight, which is bare min. (only one we have that has it.)
A lot of other players came from English football and don't seem to have it also.
