Alex rae taking the club to court and winning for unfair dismissal and unpaid holidays. Awarded 12k

18 Feb 2026 09:23:24
Believe it was unpaid holidays and bonus entitlement. Wasn't contested, I don't think.

18 Feb 2026 09:26:45
When I saw the headline, I wasn't happy, but the story makes sense. It's an embarrassment yet again that the club has done this to an employee. Thankfully, the old guard are gone.

18 Feb 2026 10:16:17
Rae is entitled to his money. Well done him.

18 Feb 2026 10:19:06
DTB, the old guard are gone, but the new guard didn't just give the man the money he was entitled to and stop this hearing from proceeding along with the negative publicity?

18 Feb 2026 11:08:21
Marco, surely there is a legal way that it is handled, and not just a case of handing out money to people.

18 Feb 2026 12:09:35
The claim was for when he was sacked with the rest of Clement's team. As no private settlement was agreed, it followed due legal process to settle the case.
We didn't defend against the claim, nor were we represented at the tribunal, so the 'judge' settled the claim based on Rae's evidence, and he got the full settlement he was claiming for.

I suspect it was poor communication between both parties, and it might have been lost in the takeover.

18 Feb 2026 12:40:00
The money is probably a few months' wages. He was probably due 3 months' notice and never got it. To be honest, I always thought he was a lucky man to get kept on by Clement, as we could have and should have done better in that role.

However, he is entitled to that money. He's got it, and now he can go back to talking rubbish on talk shows.

18 Feb 2026 13:22:44
Ally, if the new guard offered Rae his money, the matter would have been resolved, and there would have been no need to attend court. That would have been the correct procedure for settling this legal action on the club's part.

As it is, they didn't even bother sending someone to defend the action, leaving us subject to those morning headlines and reputational damage. Is that the "proper legal way" you think this should have been handled?

18 Feb 2026 14:04:21
Wsl great guess but the tribunal papers state, 10k bonus he was due plus just over 2k in holiday pay, ,

The administration team and our lawyers should be shot for something like this.

18 Feb 2026 14:09:34
Can just imagine Alex Rae in court, he'd be spitting all over the floor.

18 Feb 2026 16:57:19
Marco, why should Rangers worry about reputation? We have been in every paper for the last 15 years.

It's not a bill for new owners; it will come out of the pot that was ring-fenced for litigation at the time of takeover.

18 Feb 2026 17:05:14
Again, negativity - perhaps Rae turned down an offer and wanted his day in court?

18 Feb 2026 18:55:27
Bouncy, I understand Rae did not need to attend the hearing, as they did not contest the issue or money involved.
