I totally agree guys, max aarons is a superb signing for us and the only downside is it's currently only a season long loan deal with no option to buy. He's the perfect long-term replacement for our captain james tavernier. Imagine if we could possibly sign young welsh left back owen beck, we'd have two very good young full backs in our hands, who are both attacking, pacey and get up and down the flanks with ease. Both also good/ decent at defending and in the challenge.

Every loan comes with an option, there is just no contractual agreed cost.
There will be an understanding between the clubs a sort of gentleman's agreement on the expected price.

Asa, given your position at SK Brann, you'll know better than anyone about the the way loan transfers happen. From my novice perspective, I think it makes sense to include the option to buy at an agreed price in the contract so everyone knows where they stand. We've had 3 excellent loan signings in recent years (Tillman, Sima and Cerny) and unfortunately none of them were signed permanently. Although, I appreciate we did make money on the Tillman deal. So that's why there is such a clamour for an option to buy included in the deal. If, as I really hope, Aarons does really well, then the risk is he's priced out our reach to sign permanently next season.

Bearblue in most cases it would make sense although the club may decide it needs the loan done quickly and will leave negotiating finer details until later.
We will have a lot better relationships with clubs than the previous regime.
