Ehl do you think we will have anyone signed tomorrow with the window opening?
15 Jun 2025 21:53:32
OWS - probably not.
Theres no rush to announce anything - and one thing we've all learned is the new ownership group do their business at their own speed.
15 Jun 2025 22:20:31
Think a few will be signed before next Monday for the players returning.
15 Jun 2025 22:37:08
I know there is another week before return for training but RM seemed to believe we'll have a few in before pre season. That still gives a decent chunk of time but presumably we may at least get a Cameron media shoot tomorrow?
15 Jun 2025 22:42:37
I'm hoping cameron media shoot and least 1 other. Get fans onside early days by new owners.
15 Jun 2025 23:33:21
This isn't going to be popular, but the new ownership group have no I interest in getting fans on side.
They have a strategy that the believe in and that's what they are focused on.
If fans aren't happy in the short to medium term - they won't flinch.
16 Jun 2025 01:15:54
Yup EHL. I already put a post up the ownership group will only do what they think is right.
16 Jun 2025 04:55:25
Well that's just a stupid take by the new owners regardless of what they think is best, they have to get fans onside as you don't want fans revolting against the board. Just look at Man Utd etc fans have turned sour and it never ends well.
Fans are the lifeblood of teams and should never be ignored!
16 Jun 2025 05:10:11
Get fans on side ?.
16 Jun 2025 07:20:20
They have to realise that in order to succeed on the pitch, regardless of them caring what the fans think, they have to invest in the playing squad. If they only care about making profit in the long run then they need to buy better players it's that simple. this squad won't put a CL run together and won't go far in the EL either if all the rumoured exits happen. The consortium need to be really careful if they want to make money from commercial deals that are reliant on fan purchases then they need to put a team on the park that we can get behind.
16 Jun 2025 08:05:56
Is it BigBlue?
They have to be willing to make decisions that fans won't agree with - and there will be plenty.
It's what makes them successful.
Plenty celebrated us moving from a Public to a Private company without understanding what it means.
16 Jun 2025 08:13:08
Correct Gersgirl, the point I was making is that they won't be looking to announce signings early 'to get fans on board' - they'll announce them whenever they think it's right.
They also won't be put off singing players / coaches they believe in due to fan reaction - exact same with player sales.
16 Jun 2025 08:18:18
Good to hear that they will at last be doing what is good for the team and club rather than what a group of fans think. part of the issue here is our old board of fans listened to the noise from the stands every 12-18 months and changed manager. now we need to stick with one for a while.
16 Jun 2025 08:19:20
I hope My Star is correct, and we have a few of our targets in for next week to commence pre-season whit the squad, especially with new systems to adapt to and UCL Qualifiers looming shortly thereafter. Other SPL Teams are getting their work done early, so hopefully we don't drag our heels too long, but, as EHL has said our New Owners appear fixed on what they want to do, we'll see how it all pans out shortly.
16 Jun 2025 09:53:46
I'm not saying that they won't need to make tough choices EHL as they clearly will and already have but to state that they don't give a monkeys about what fans think is a slippery slope and surely they know that.
As for signings I'm sure they're aware of what we need and how quickly we need to operate so I'm relaxed over that as Rome wasn't built in a day and I still believe we have some good quality still at the club.
16 Jun 2025 10:43:27
EHL, if this is your way of telling us Naismith will be joining - then the new owners will be in for a hefty shock.
There isn't many places like an unhappy Ibrox. Or an empty one for that matter.
16 Jun 2025 11:52:01
Zikos those same fans will be back when we start winning. re Naismith yes a portion of fans might be upset but there are others who are happy for the board to get on with it and make us the best again. if they think that includes Naismith then that is good enough for me.
16 Jun 2025 13:01:36
I think a very healthy dose of reality is required amongst a lot of our support.
IF this board can ignore the noise and do what is right for the 'business' we will be ok, might not be pretty initially, but give it time.
August lol! ???.
16 Jun 2025 14:14:19
If the board make all decisions for the benefit of the business no matter fa s thoughts then the bottom line is we exist and flourish. That'll do for me!
