Anyone a bit concerned about a fair chunk of the rumours being players from down south? We've gone down that route before and have had more failures than wins and the majority had high wages. I won't pass judgement on the new guys until they have a chance of course but Everton haven't exactly been great in the transfer window the past few years.

Weve also been down the route at the sqme time of players from europe wheo have also failed big time. At the moment half players championship linked and half players out with uk.

Davie we have had our fair share of failures from every market we shop in! It's all about identifying the right individuals no matter where they are currently playing their football. I personally would shop in markets that would maybe be better value for money however there is always a risk when signing players no matter how able they are.

You do realise they are just rumours so some or none of them may get bought. the fact we have a British manager allows the press and the players to put forward players they are more aware of. is anyone surprised that there are a large number of players who Martin and Thelwell would know. yes it may be they are fishing in that pond but I suspect it is just lazy journalism for most.

Yeah sone of the names concern me even a fair few Championship players would be outwith our alleged new wage structure i just don't want us to make same mistakes we have made before. Some of the rumours seem exciting tho Turgeman, Frigan couple others still bit gutted we didn't get Camara across the line thought he would have been a very good addition but will just have to wait for the scarf shots to see who we do get and who doesn't come. Expecting a busy week before pre-season starts.

Transfers in general have more misses than hits it's nothing to do with being english or playing in the english leagues. Tav, goldson, arfield, defoe, lundstrum, aribo, kent, cantwell are all players that have came from down south that were good enough to play. there is nothing wrong with the english leagues other than wages and prices. we've had plenty players from europe, south america, north america etc that haven't worked either i'm not sure why people seem to blame it on the english leagues, its just the nature of transfers some work some don't. England has probably been one of our best in recent years bar the excessive wages we have paid to some of them.

Club are actively looking at most markets, Scottish, British, European, African and South American.
Model will more than likely see players 23+ coming from closer to home and those 17+ being identified from wider markets.
Main focus for the recruitment team at the moment is rebalancing the squad.

Cantwell was far to up himself to ever be a good player for rangers.

Cantwell was still miles better than hagi bajrami lawrence etc.

Behave dado hagi won 55 and was in double figures for goals and assists that season cantwell was a diddy.

1 season wonder then? Cantwell for me was far more suited to the physical nature of the league here. Hagi must be one of the most over rated players we have ever had.
