I was going to take a break for a while but I have to comment on the mindless behavior of some idiots that tarnish our club.
The support for acts of violence and terror on both sides is repulsive.
I defended the banner in Europe as personally I seen no racism or discrimination in it but this is different in its entirety.
This was criminality in broad daylight for the world to see.
I for one would disassociate myself and hope the club disassociates themselves from these clowns and issues lifetime bans.
05 May 2025 16:02:01
Well said Asa.
Hatred and bigotry have zero place in football.
05 May 2025 16:05:48
Asa, surely the club must sanction the Tifo?
I can't believe that the UB's have the freedom to display anything they want inside Ibrox with the media spotlight there without the club knowing anything about it.
Seems absolute crazy and totally negligent.
So they could display something racist, homophobic etc etc inside Ibrox and the club doesn't have a say until after the fact. I just can't believe that.
Someone at the club must have known.
05 May 2025 16:10:09
Throwing objects onto the pitch, absolutely agree no place at all for that. But a tifo quoting star wars? I get it, we all know what the correlation was but come on when did we all get so hurty and offended by everything. What was once a fierce rivalry is now turning into a bunch of modern day wet wipes being offended and grassing on each other.
05 May 2025 16:15:50
Agree, that TIFO only harmed the reputation of Rangers. Likewise one of the songs. No whataboutery here.
05 May 2025 16:20:35
Bottles thrown - vapes and other items too then the tifo - an embarrassment to the club just as we seek new investment and support from new regime too?.
05 May 2025 16:21:24
Just when you thought you were out Asa - you get pulled back in again.
Without going over too much old ground, I thought both banners were of incredibly poor taste and both had no place in a football stadium.
I'll say again, hopefully the club take steps to ban those involved.
05 May 2025 16:22:14
Asa, He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone, The whole of scottish football is tarnished mate, unless the authorities start getting really hard in closing stadiums and point deductions it will never end.
Aberdeen supporters mocking a disabled person is another blight on scottish football, these people are not supporters but thugs and hooligans everyone of them should be banned for life from the club. there are plenty of genuine supporters willing and waiting to buy their season tickets.
05 May 2025 16:30:20
Although we disagree on the other banner. Well said on your other point. The ones that sadly support this behaviour, basically have an argument of " but they do it to" as if 2 wrongs make a right, pathetic tbh.
05 May 2025 16:48:28
Ger88, you and others are embarrassing yourselves if you believe that was just star wars related. Nothing to do with a fierce rivalry. That rivalry continues to be turned into something else by a bunch of paramilitary wannabees in both sides. I think Ed001 called it out perfectly on the other posts pages. How about keeping football matches for the football and stop all this crap.
05 May 2025 16:48:35
I encompassed the throwing of missiles in the acts of violence part.
EHL I did not want to be truly out I just wished to stop going over old ground in terms of managers and ownership.
The club must act and all clubs in Scotland must act against bigotry and criminal elements of their support.
05 May 2025 16:51:17
Agree Asathor,
I would add to that to say that it's bad management from the club to let this TIFO into the stadium and be displayed in the first place.
The club should not be letting TIFO's into the stadium without having a person/ point of contact in charge of the display and prior knowledge as to what is to be displayed.
05 May 2025 17:17:23
You do realise the connection of yesterday's Tifo and the date? Its a known quote from Star Wars and it was displayed with the date being "May the 4th be with you". For fans to get upset over that yesterday is just exaggeration. As for the throwing of objects, well that's something unacceptable and the club should ensure they chase those idiots out of our club. Fans could be doing more if it's happening next to them. Police Scotland have confirmed no criminality with regards to the Tifo. Common sense prevails.
05 May 2025 17:19:16
Ger88 what does that banner have to do with a football rivalry? Please explain?
05 May 2025 17:30:46
No exaggeration from my perspective Jasper.
Tifo had no place in a football stadium. Those involved knew exactly what they were doing - just like the Fener game.
Trying to hide behind Star Wars is embarrassing.
05 May 2025 17:41:00
This support for terror organisations must be stamped out and quickly, i did a few tours over there in my military days and some of my best pals didn't come home, so when i hear these songs and see these Tifo's it sickens me, there is no place in a football ground for this crap as for bottles ETC being thrown i hope CCTV can identify the culprits and they are banned for life.
05 May 2025 17:41:10
Boy blue, we all know what the intent was, and should it have been displayed? Probably not no, but the point I'm making is for grown adults to be getting up in arms and offended by it is what's embarrassing, folk need to grow up.
05 May 2025 17:43:59
Why what exactly is wrong with it? The image or the word Rebel or Scum?
There is nothing wrong with it. Fans are getting their knickers in a twist over nothing, our fans more so than theirs. Our Tifos in Scotland are very tame in comparison to say Italy and their Football Ultras.
{Ed001's Note - Italy have a huge problem with real gangsters running their ultras and hardcore neo-nazism, I hardly think it is someone to be compared to. Roma fans think the way to welcome opposing fans to the city is to ride up behind them on scooters with knifes attached to poles and stab them in the back or arse. And they are the nicer set of fans in Rome! If you can't see what is wrong with it, then it is you that is the problem.}
05 May 2025 17:47:23
Said before the club should have a correspondence with UB before every game, on bottle or items thrown then banned for life and be known to police, the Tifo was a cracker to be fair but if the word play they used is out of order then up to club to regulate the Tifo in future, a personally don't think the club would of came out on the tifo if a takeover was not happening.
05 May 2025 18:19:17
Anyone who thinks this is ok is part of the problem.
05 May 2025 18:32:53
Jasper don't know if your naive or your village is missing it's idiot.
05 May 2025 18:36:27
Jasper, if you genuinely can't see what's wrong with it, then there's no point trying to debate.
I just hope all those involved get banned.
05 May 2025 18:46:40
kick out the ub take there season tickets away they no who they are they mudt have there email addresses home address etc etc and stop them getting away tickets too i am sick an tired off this so called group who say they support rangers fc but do nothing but bring shame an embaresment to our club
kick them out
once and for all
please rangers fc
do it it is the best thing for the club to get them out of our great club
rangers fc
?⚪?.
05 May 2025 18:53:42
So what exactly was wrong with the Tifo?
Ed, my point in comparison to Italian ultras is that we're crying over words on a banner to what goes on in Europe. Hence my point that the UB and GB are extremely tame. I've been following Italian football for years, Napoli in particular, that's why I used Italy in comparison.
{Ed001's Note - Europe is irrelevant, especially Italy and Napoli who thought it was ok to post a racist tweet about their own player. Hardly a worthy comparison.
If you can't see a problem with a picture of a man pointing a gun at the opposing fans while referring to rebel scum, then you really need help. And don't give me the star wars crap, it was clearly just an attempt to be sly and sneak in a nasty dig.}
05 May 2025 19:06:08
Correct? now there asking for donations for future tifo, also a quote of "national meltdown, priceless" tells you all you need to know, no interest in the reputational damage their actions are doing the club.
05 May 2025 19:23:25
Agree with you all the way Asa, it was offensive and was meant to be offensive.
Like EHL says, no place in football for it.
But as for politicians making statements on this, clearly double standards apply to our club in Scotland. Only when Rangers do this does that happen. They should comment on it, but on both sides which is not the case and is sheer hypocrisy.
05 May 2025 19:40:45
So you basically admit its wrong ger88, but here you are defending it anyway. Does it not bother you the bad light it brings our club?
05 May 2025 19:47:38
Hopefully the Americans can steer us away from this.
That yesterday was wrong on so many levels.
I do wonder what the new owners thought about it.
05 May 2025 19:52:26
"What's wrong with it" jasper more to the point what's wrong with you? Couldn't give a toss what the date is, you think people are stupid? I also couldn't give a ? about tifos in Italy, stop trying to justify something by using a worse example.
The 4th be with you was there for simpletons like yourself, to deflect from the real reason.
05 May 2025 19:49:06
Ed, they aren't that far behind the Napoli fans and their racist tweets!
The week after their 'Defend Europe' banner they were celebrating two Muslim players scoring against Celtic.
Honestly, the sooner we ban them the better.
{Ed001's Note - it is embarrassing isn't it? Did you ever see a TV show called Eleven Against Eleven, a long time ago now. There was a lot of that which still resonates today.}
05 May 2025 20:19:12
People showing themselves to be utterly embarrassing, another to quote Ed "bellend"
05 May 2025 20:51:15
So let's just say the words below the tiff were aimed at being about Star Wars, which they werent. so can anyone explain to me what Souness with a shotgun had to do with Star Wars day. those trying to defend it need to, as someone said on here, learn that you should only donate your brain to science after you are dead. BTW you can et upset about that as it is a quote from the Office. hey I see how this works now you just say anything to offend as long as it is a quote. then if people moan you just say they are getting all soft and hurty ?.
05 May 2025 20:55:30
Ano ehl couldn't make it up ?.
05 May 2025 21:35:07
Or football?
05 May 2025 22:17:58
So, because I have an opinion on something, it gives other people on here the right to start name calling. Simpleton and Bellend! Really? Lol If we weren't in the process of a takeover nothing would be getting said about that tifo. You all give the UB a hard time and I don't always agree with everything they do. I'll tell you this though, it wasn't anyone in the UB that threw that bottle onto the pitch. Its actions like that that bring the clubs name into disrepute.
05 May 2025 22:20:40
Utter tripe. There was nothing wrong with it. Stop being so sanctimonious.
05 May 2025 22:38:02
Not defending it at all BB, of course noone wants to see the clubs reputation tarnished because of things like this, again you're missing my point, we've got people contacting the police and going up in arms over a banner, not saying it's right at all, but what I am saying is we've all gotten soft.
06 May 2025 01:56:14
I don't think people have gone soft ger88. I think people are just sick fed up of all this religious b. s. it has no place in football.
Jasper you aren't telling us anything, everyone knows it wasn't the union bears who threw the bottle. There's not a person on this site that hasn't agreed it brings the club into disrepute. The person who done it should be banned for life, along with the tifo makers.
06 May 2025 06:52:34
Name calling oh hurty words, kinda like "Rebel scum"?.
06 May 2025 09:44:20
What's todo.
06 May 2025 12:50:57
Exactly fork, it's ok when it's not about them, but when they're on the receiving end they want to complain and call it "name calling" oh dear ?.
