First job as a rookie manager
Stopped 10 in a row
Won 55th title unbeaten
His name brought in players we made a lot of money
Loved the club and we loved him
Can blame him for money side of things
And he did build the team that got us to a euro final.
No one really knows the reason he left other than taking a shot at the best league in the world . marco rose and others don't know what they are walking into but he does.

BigAmo7 - Gerrard was last manager to win a league but to be fair Celtic imploded and made his job easier. Overall one trophy in 3 years was rubbish. Some of our fans look at it with Rose tinted specs because it stopped 10 in a row.
He was found out at Villa and Al Ettifaq. As for his Rangers signings how about this lot. Bacuna 2m, Grezda 2m, Sadiq 1.8m, Polster free, Hastie free, Andy King free, Ejaria free, Ojo free, Jack Simpson free, Worrell loan, Kamberi loan, McAuley free, Zungu loan, Jordan Jones free, Barker half million, Itten 3m, Edmundson 800,000, Helander 3and a half million, all those free and loan signings got paid big wages for doing nothing do you want him back, would you trust him in the transfer market?
p. s this is only some of them there are many others. Coulibaly, Flanagan! He won the league with guys who were mainly already there guys such as Halliday, Tav, Morelos, patterson, Jack, I don't want to see him anywhere near Rangers.

Big Amo, I really object to your post. There is no hate on here for Gerrard, just a recognition of his lack of achievement at Rangers and again since he left. The vast majority of fans don't want him back for those reasons, nothing else.

Remember the disaster following Pedro that he walked into. Yes he made mistakes, but still has such an illustrious name in the game, with the right backing I think he can definitely be successful. And yes, he knows exactly what to expect and would hit the road running imo.

I think he got the jobs he had because of who he was and the reputation he carried as a player, HOWEVER, I personally think his record is woeful and imo, he will struggle to get another high profile role, essentially he has been found out (while at the same time making shed loads of £££).

Personally I don't want SG back I think he was a man for that time. But in the absence of any outstanding candidate, by that I mean someone who can come in and hit the ground running in the SPL, I can maybe understand their thinking. We have to get this right, they went and got Ange from totally left field and he identified the workrate required to do well in this league. With our finances we should be beating the other 8 teams so that is the issue.

I don't think it's fair to say Celtic imploded. I think it's more to do with the lack of fans and our team not being caught in that vicious cycle of making a few mistakes and the crowd being immediately on their back from the expectation and hunger/ pain to take the league from them.

If the new owners are big on data and analytics then surely that applies to managers and coaching style. Which should rule out gerrard. Has he got a style? (beale took the credit for that) A track record of improving players or developing players? Improving a team without huge money and moving them on for profit? Would have to say no. (Bassey developed under GVB at CB) Is he a good figurehead and good with media? Yes. Similar to Ferguson now but that ain't getting us out the hole in a hurry.
